Perfect getaway spot in Erie!
Tent · Group trip
James’s land was amazing! It was perfectly tucked away and secluded yet a few min from civilization. Having a creek right there made for a perfect spot to rinse off or just sit and listen to the water. Not to mention having the sound of the creek at night made for the perfect nights rest. There were multiple places you could pitch a tent throughout the property! There was a nice, large, clear spot where we were able to have an 8 person tent, a 4 person tent, a nice big fire pit and tons of space for tables of food and drinks and plenty more space for games. There was also an endless amount of firewood throughout the property! It is a bit of a hike to get there though once parked. I’d guess around a half mile at most one way. It’s all downhill to get to the spot and all uphill leaving. There are a couple downed trees across the trail that you may have to climb over. Only advice would be to pack accordingly! We brought wagons but found that packing as much as we could on our backs was the way to go, and a cooler with wheels is clutch! If you’re not afraid of a little hard work carrying everything down and back (in multiple trips depending on how much you pack) this is one of the best spots I have ever camped! You can not beat the privacy and the feeling of being in the middle of no where, while still having everything you may need a few min up the road. We will definitely be back to camp again! It was a beautiful, secluded spot! Truly a hidden gem!!!

Hidden gem (with fossils)
Tent · With pets
Very nice secluded spot right in town! However the other reviews weren't lying, that hike down is tough! Make sure to o ly bring what you can carry easily in 2 or 3 trips (small coolers or cookers not anything huge or heavy). Also lovely creek loaded with cool fossils! Had a great time. May return depending on if I can bring less haha.

Great area, great biodiversity of plants for identification ! Although I wasn’t able to see any, I did hear some great birds (barred owl). Wish the area was made a bit more obvious to where you could and couldn’t be bc it’s dispersed camping but what seems like a shared backyard ? Other than that be prepared for steep, unkept trail, it is dispersed camping so get ready for wandering a bit !

Hike in only
Tent
Both sites were not accesible by suv. Hike in would be necessary. However there was also no space to park your vehicle aside from in the tall weeds at the edge of the road. There was supposed to be a dirt road to drive into the site, but no road or trail was visible. The area was completely covered in waist high weeds and tree branches. We did not go down to the camp site because of the inaccessibility. The site itself may be wonderful, but we never saw it. I hope that in the future the description will reflect that pack in is necessary and parking is an issue so that people can choose what fits their needs. On the plus side, I was able to get ahold of James on the phone an he helped us to find where the dirt access road was supposed to be and he refunded our money when we were not able to access the site.

Did not end up camping here, not prepared for the backcountry camping and unsafe trail with down trees
