Beautiful secluded 29-acre property in rural New York. This land had once been part of a large farm for a few hundred years and was subdivided in the early 1990.. Field by field it was let "go wild" and the forests and old fields are rich in stages of succession and biological diversity. There are miles of maintained trails...and even more if you want to go on trails made by deer and rabbits.

Put up a tent or sleep under the stars in one of our three clearings in old meadows,, surrounded by forest. Several trails lead to other places on the land. Campsites about a 4-6 minute walk from parking area. Wagon available to haul your stuff back and forth.
Jo's campsite offers a serene and secluded retreat, perfect for those seeking peace and connection with nature. The host, Jo, is consistently praised for her warm hospitality, knowledge about the land, and thoughtful amenities like fresh eggs and water. Guests appreciate the quiet, private campsites nestled among the trees, complemented by well-maintained trails and a unique composting toilet setup. While most visitors found the experience overwhelmingly positive, a few noted the public nature of the toilet as an aspect to consider for those who are shy.
If you enjoy mossy, secluded campsites and ample trails through wildflower fields and diverse forests, then Jo’s spot is for you. Very secluded and peaceful, her land is one of envy. Drive to the nearest town, freshwater spring, and/or mining site were all just about 10 mins. Very helpful, thoughtful and laid-back folks. Would 100% come back.
What an amazing property and campsite! My pup and I were warmly welcomed by Jo who took the time to show us around and help us get set up. We ended up going into town together and were given a tour of some very cool reno building projects before having a nice dinner.
In the morning, a grey fox trotted past our campsite- I'm still stunned by the sighting of such a gorgeous animal! This hipcamp property sets a very high bar. Wish we had stayed longer!
Wow! Beautiful all around! Jo is an incredible hostess and human. She was readily available and anticipated our needs so well. She does such a great job at preparing the space for a wonderful camping experience. Her loving relationship with the land of Earthsong is palpable and her dedication to serving it inspirational. 100 percent will be back whenever I need peace and calm.
The site is ALL the things: private, wooded, dog friendly, quiet, has a potty at the site AND it’s only a short but beautiful drive to town.
We visited herkimer mines with our little one, stopped at some Amish farm stands for goodies along the way and explored some of the surround streams for pretty rocks. I really wish we had allotted more time to spend at Earthsong though, it’s such a magical space!
I’m so looking forward to our next trip to Earthsong!
Jo was so attentive and kind! She keeps up her land beautifully and gave us a wonderful tour of the property. We had a serene, peaceful night and would love to go back.
