Barachi (The Shack )
We loved staying in the cabin alongside the creek. Tania and Peter were friendly and helpful on checkin. We had a good time around the campfire and listening to the running creek.

Disconnect to reconnect! 🍃
It was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives with limited connectivity. My partner and I had picnics by the creek, bonfires, lots of bbq and time to read and chat with no distractions. We absolutely loved it! The curious cows found our puppy very intriguing. The place is well set up, has everything you need, but of course for a rustic experience.

Old World Charm
I highly recommend this location as place to stay for an over night or even a couple of nights rest up.. Located well away from any habitation, the Shack has its own creek and small paddock to itself. A lovely quiet location with basic facilities that suit its rustic nature are more than adequate. This makes for a very simple comfortable stay. The Shack is a large one room hut made of corrugated iron and local time. This gives a old world charm about it. A 4x4 is highly recommended as some low clearance AWD SUVs will likely struggle on a couple of the track sections getting in/ out. Heavy wet weather may prove a challenge if your tyre tread is road pattern only. Mobile phone coverage is intermittent. Overall a great place to visit with Peter being friendly and very helpful. We had a great time, Thanks

The Shack
Loved our overnight experience at The Shack, despite some rain. The track down was adventurous with Peter escorting us in his trusty quad bike, & the cows curiously greeting us. The gorgeous cattle left their mark and we used our navigational skills amongst the grasslands and short trek to the loo. The setting is serene, quiet and rustic, with that Man from Snowy River vibe - just perfect actually. The rustic cabin has all the basics you’d need. I tried out the hammock while relaxing with a good book. We enjoyed the camp fire in the fire pit, along with our red wine, while the whip birds sang in the tree above us, before the rain drops interrupted our interlude in the late afternoon. Not to let this dampen our trip, we ventured indoors to stay warm & dry while we finished our red. We woke the next morning to the running nearby creek and the morning bird calls. Our BBQ breakfast was a treat as we continued with the serenity of such a beautiful spot. The continual drizzle prompted us to pack up a bit earlier & with a visit from Peter, we were ensured we could exit more safely. Thank goodness our sturdy 4WD kicked in for our wet, slippery trek back up the mountain. Afterwards, we enjoyed our coffee at Annie’s just up the road.
We’d love to go back to this gorgeous hideaway. Peter is an excellent, super friendly, responsive & caring host.
