    CAMP IN NATURE WITH A BIT OF STYLE Vinalhaven is an unabridged island off the coast of Maine brimming with beautiful views, magical hiking trails (literally everywhere!), fresh water quarries to swim, lobsters right off the boat and a peaceful quiet that settles any restless soul. The second you get on the ferry (it’s an hour an 15 minute ride to the island ), you will fall madly, deeply in love! A simple life you sink into and can’t get enough of… THE BIRDHOUSE TENT: An off the grid, star gazing glamping tent nestled at the edge of a quiet tidal wetlands. *Please note, you are not camping on the ocean's edge. The island offers dozens of breathtaking hikes available along with ocean’s edge and at different inland locations. All hikes are easy to access! Life is simple and easy being here! ABOUT THE ISLAND'S RENTAL SEASON: We have a short 3 month tourist season on the island. Camping on public land on the island is not allowed. Camping on private land is allowed. CHECK IN and CHECK OUT TIMES: Check in is at 3pm. Reach out the day of your check in if you want to check in early. I can let you know if it is possible to check in early. Check out is at 11am.An off the grid, star gazing glamping tent nestled at the edge of a quiet tidal estuary. You’ll enjoy these amenities at the birdhouse tent:  ✓Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite high speed internet. ✓Eco Flow solar power generator for lights and anything you need! ✓ Solar powered LED string lights, path lights, and twinkle lights around campfire. ✓Joolca on demand propane water heater for out door tent shower and kitchenette sink. Hot water fast and amazing pressure! ✓Fresh drinking water hose runs from my house to your tent. ✓Loveable loo composting toilet.✓Campfire with hammock, bench, wood stools and chair. ✓Heavy duty barbecue swivel grill for outdoor BBQ over open fire. ✓Coleman propane stove with small grill for cooking on kitchenette. ✓ Linen sheets and brand new mattress and pillows enclosed in hypoallergenic covers.✓Extra blankets. ✓Games and puzzles for chill-in evenings. ✓I live in a modern pre-fab home tucked away at the top of the hill above your tent, hidden from view with sail shade and umbrella. If you need me, I am close by, and if you want privacy, you won't be bothered. ➝EXTRA ADD ONS AFTER YOU BOOK!     Experience the islands and their surrounding waters as only a water borne creature can. Route options are many. About the captain: He holds an U.S. Coast Guard Masters license for steam, motor or auxiliary sail vessels of not more than 50 tons upon inland waters. And has an operator's license of un-inspected passenger vessels (OUPV) upon near coastal waters not more than 100 miles offshore.

    This was the perfect glamping getaway! The tent site is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. Rebecca is a great host, helpful, informative, responsive, but also gave us our space. Would definitely recommend!

    Fabulous!
    Rebecca is an amazing host! Always there if we need but gave us space to enjoy the camp. The camp site is set up with everything you need. From cooking, to a warm (outdoor) shower. I highly recommend having a little getaway here.

    We loved staying at The Birdhouse tent! The location is idyllic, beautiful nature surrounding you, the tent is pristine, cozy, and snug sleeping quarters. The kitchen is quaint and we loved having breakfast on the deck. Rebecca answered all questions very quickly. The place is also so closely located to all attractions. Would love to come back!!

    This was a great experience. The tent was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The outdoor space had everything you could need to cook and enjoy. Rebecca was very quick to answer any questions and help out. With her help we were able to explore the island and enjoy all that it had to offer.

    Perfect!
    Perfect glamping in unique location! Rebecca is an attentive host and provided a beautiful campsite with extras like electricity and a charger. The nighttime was incredibly peaceful and we woke to the sound of a Bald Eagle within the estuary.
