Ernie is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Palala Ranch is 20 acres of forested and inclined terrain. Located midway between the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe, it's a great stop off point on your way to the snow and the mountains. Being in the middle of gold country, there's several small historic gold mining towns that are really fun to visit. The Shenandoah Valley wine country is only 25 minutes away. This property is the beginning of a dream that we want all of our guests to be apart of. Using feedback and suggestions mingled with our vision, we want guests to contribute to the growth of this dream. Everytime guests return there will be new features and improvements for them to enjoy and to provide the best experience we can work the current resources. We look forward to hosting you and can't wait to meet you!

Site 3 - Palala Ranch RV, Trailer, and Camp
Nice campground with beautiful view. Communication with Ernie were clear and directions too. We got the rv site with the full hookup, and honestly no complaints.

Tent Site 1
This campsite is amazing! The views are beautiful, and it's the perfect space for a tent. There's a composting toilet with a view, a picnic table, and even some games. It's an incredible place to go and feel like you're far away from everything, and the sunsets are gorgeous! I highly recommend staying here.

Brought my trailer and my dog!
I had such a joyous and peaceful time staying here! Ernie was so accommodating and allowed the space for my dog and I to retreat in the quiet. I will definitely stay again.

Site 3 - Palala Ranch RV, Trailer, and Camp
We met Ernie and we liked his sites on the Ranch he owns. We don’t have 4 wheel drive which is “recommended”. So we struggled to get to Site 3., but finally made it.

Site 3 - Palala Ranch RV, Trailer, and Camp
RV site
First, unless you have a self-contained rig with A/C, I would not recommend camping here in the heat of the summer since there is little to no shade. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. We do not have a self-contained rig and it was HOT, but the site was clean, level and had water and electricity. We used the electricity for our fridge and had running water for our tank. Our camper does not have a toilet, so we cart our own... thank goodness. The host does have a "pit toilet" on site, but there is no door and it is in the direct sun; the view, however, is amazing. Ernie, the host, was welcoming and loaned us a 50 to 30 amp converter, which we greatly appreciated. The site is very quiet, beautiful sunsets, and lots of wild turkeys. Roads to get to the property can be narrow, steep and winding, but very light traffic. Wineries are nearby and we appreciated that. We will visit again when the temperatures are cooler. Thank you, Ernie.

Peaceful & remote in gold country
Ernie's place is a gem. It's remote and feels that way, the views are incredibly peaceful, and the land around the RV spot is plentiful and flat, making it easy to set up and leaving lots of space for kids and dogs to play. We had an incredibly relaxing time with our friends for Memorial day weekend. Ernie was helpful every time we asked a question, directing us to local swimming holes, etc. I can't wait to see what Ernie does with the place.
