Sapphire Coast Dairy-Homestead

5 sites · RVs, Tents929 acres · Greendale, NSW
376 hectare operating dairy farm next to Biamanga National Park with access via secret 4WD track to the mountain and 22km to Brogo Dam for bass fishing. 16.5 kms to shopping centre of Bega. & 34 km to Tathra beach. The property has eucalyptus forest, rainforest gullies, fresh mountain water and abundant wildlife include bellbirds and lyrebirds. The campsite is at the original 1908 selection block by the late John Pearce (one of the first settlers in the area) and has extensive views. in dry weather you can get here in 2WD towing a small camper trailer. There is a steep hairpin bend so I do not recommend caravans with 2WD vehicles (4WD vehicle and caravan could handle this). If you have queries regarding access check photos in gallery or please ask me. Flushing toilet on site. Dogs permitted. Good telephone and internet reception. Ideal for flying your new drone.

Kangarutha Farm

13 sites · RVs, Tents115 acres · Kalaru, NSW
Visit Tathra, but stay at Kangarutha, only 2km from the edge of town, and enjoy space, privacy and tranquillity. We intentionally only have a limited number of campsites on our large property, so that you can enjoy camping in a natural setting away from the crowd. Our stunning property is comprised of open paddock areas surrounded by large areas of native forests, and we border national park. Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track. Our property was home to the former and well-loved businesses 'Kangarutha Nursery', and 'On the Perch Bird Park'. We have been busy re-imagining these spaces. We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower a short walk from the campsites. Our property is dog friendly for well behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs. Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.

Spacious level grassy campsites on the Towamba River, a pristine estuary that runs into Twofold Bay. 10 minutes on bitumen south of Eden and close to many of the Sapphire Coast's stunning coastline, National Parks and attractions. Our guests love the tranquility and not having to share! Fish the river for flathead or bream and enjoy it for dinner by the campfire. Bring your kayak or SUP or just enjoy a swim in the clear sandy-bottom river. Once your booking request has been confirmed, let us know if you need more specific directions so you can find us easily. Well behaved (spoilt) dogs okay but please no hunting type dogs. Both sites have access to separate taps for fresh drinking water. Site #2 has access to our composting toilet. You'll need to bring your own chemical toilet for Site #1 (near) Boatramp site. Firewood can be collected from the property or supplied at a small fee (you can book this when you book your site). Feel free to collect your own kindling - plenty around). Good mobile reception on the Telstra network. PLEASE NOTE: the property is currently listed for sale. The best camping near Green Cape guide

Overview

About

Embark on a journey to Green Cape, where the untamed wilderness of Beowa National Park awaits. Here, the thrill of whale watching, birdwatching, and wildlife-spotting merge with the rich maritime heritage of the southernmost lighthouse in NSW. While camping options are not directly mentioned, the area offers a plethora of activities, including scenic walks, fishing, and soaking in the panoramic ocean views.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Green Cape is during spring, when migrating whales grace the waters near the historic lighthouse. Autumn brings the dance of lyrebirds, while summer offers perfect conditions for coastal walks. Winter's cool climate is ideal for the Light to Light walk, with banksias in full bloom.

Know before you go

  • Check weather and fire danger alerts before your visit, as conditions can lead to park closures.
  • Accessibility is medium, with some areas requiring assistance to access.
  • Park entry fees apply; purchase an annual pass for convenience.
  • Non-flush toilets and picnic tables are available on-site.
  • For safety, be cautious of unpatrolled beaches and fishing off rocks.
