A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. The property in Waterloo is a 200-acre working farm with Murray Grey cattle and Cheviot sheep, and, of course, many kangaroos. We have a campsite available near the house, under a beautiful Yellow Box tree. Power is available if required. Alternatively, one or two bedrooms are available in an independent wing of the house with a private bathroom and toilet. There are cafes and eateries in Beaufort which is only 10 kilometres away. The town also provides a supermarket, hotel, chemist, hardware store, and butcher shop, with many other spots of interest. The railway station has regular services to Ballarat and Melbourne which take 1 to 2 hours journey. The Pyrenees Wine region is also on the doorstep. A public dump point is available in Beaufort. Yellow Box Hill is backed by the State Forest so there are ample walking trails, as well as in the Mt. Cole area. Information about the region is available at the Beaufort Community Resource Centre and Library. Gold detecting is very popular as Waterloo was a gold-mining town in the 1850's. Surely, there has been some left behind! You are welcome to stay a night or a few days, or as arranged.

Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes. Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

In the cooler months, the land turns from shades of gold to greens.  There are no facilities, its just you and the land (bliss!) so ensure you have everything you need with you, and take all your waste when you leave.  If you fancy fresh fish for dinner, just down the road is Tuki Trout Farm, or nearby Cairn Curran Reservoir and Tullaroop Reservoir are great for fishing. Weekend Trip to The Irish affect

First off, Paul is an absolute gentleman and was easy to deal with. His hospitality was above and beyond. The campsite and amenities were great, clean showers and flush toilets, although we didn’t use the BBQ, there was one there. The camp sites were very spacious, could easily fit multi people/tents setups. It was a very peaceful stay and enjoyed the scenery, especially with the occasional visits from the goats. Thank you Paul for a wonderful stay! The campsite was beautifully decorated, had everything we needed! Had multiple visits from some goat friends! Paul and his family were such welcoming hosts! My friend and I felt very looked after! The site felt private and the wildlife about was so wonderful! Would absolutely 1000% camp here again and will be recommending this spot to many people!

1 night at Lovely Bush Property

A quiet, private camping spot which was very dog friendly. We had the whole property to ourselves so we could let the dogs run around off lead. There were picnic tables and a firepit with lots of firewood around, plus a grate that you could cook over and a rain water tank with plenty of water. Communication with Ian was easy and friendly, would highly recommend staying here. One thing to note is the ground is quite hard so not the most suitable for getting pegs in. Apart from that, the place is perfect for camping!

Second time at Roxborough Vale, first time at Sandy Flat. Great spot with ample space between sites and plenty of shade by the creek. Easy walk to the bluestone barn. . Perfect escape from the rat race and dog friendly. Host Mark makes you feel welcomed.
