Rich in history, vibrant with art and alive with culture the Tweed Valley has a smorgasbord of experiences to be enjoyed.A car is a necessity in this area, as public transport is quite scarce.  Cycling is popular in the area but you will need to be keen and fit as there are a lot of hills!If you are an Art lover, in Murwillumbah, (just a fifteen-minute drive) you will find the world-famous Tweed Regional Gallery. The gallery has recently gained great accolades for its latest acquisition – the Margaret Olley Wing, named in honour of one of Australia’s most famous artists.Take a short, scenic drive to any of the surrounding villages and you will find a range of cafes in charming settings. In most of the valley’s cafes and restaurants, an emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and locally grown produce.The Village of Uki is a 15-minute drive away and has cafes as well as a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday. We are situated 30 minutes from Byron Bay by car and only 25 minutes from the Bluesfest site. In just a 20-minute gorgeous drive you can be walking on the uncrowded Wooyong Beach.Nimbin, Australia’s most famous ‘Alternative’ Town is a fifty-minute drive.We ask that you would treat our property as well or better than your own and expect our guests to be well behaved, and environmentally aware of our sustainable and quiet rural lifestyle. Please note this is not a 'party' site. We are designated 'Land for Wildlife' and so most suited to those who seek peace and quiet.Owing to the terrain, this property is not suitable for children, but adults are welcome to wander around the beautiful gardens.Very sorry but this site is not suitable for those who have to make use of a wheelchair.Campfires are allowed in the fire braziers provided.
