Paddocks and 2 dams, kangaroos, horses & alpacas, backing onto bushland, great area for bush walks. Plenty of space for caravans, motor homes or tents. Privacy in the back paddock for those that have their own setup. Good access for caravans. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. DOGS ON REQUEST. PLEASE ASK. We have horses and you are welcome to interact/feed/brush/pat, just ask me on arrival. **DO NOT USE OUR BINS, take all of your rubbish with you when you leave, guests will be fined if you put rubbish in our bins, no fireworks and abide by fire ban. It was a beautifully spacious place for our two pups to run around freely, as the property was fenced (if not the individual camping areas). The vibe was quiet and calm - exactly what we wanted for our first time ever camping as a family. Jacqui was very responsive to any queries, and replied quickly over the app.

We loved our stay at in both the barn room and shipping containers. Clean and well equipped kitchen and shared bathroom. Scenic with great views and surrounds. Even with a group of campers in tents sharing the facilities it worked out well. Family friendly.

Weekend Trip to Shepherds Rest

My family, our dog and some close friends drove down from Sydney to Shepherds Rest for a nice long weekend get away, and honestly aside from the wind deciding it wanted to party - it was such a beautiful area. The local fauna gave a symphony of sounds to wake up to, along side the crisp, fresh air. Jacqui’s property has a communal area with a cozy kitchen, clean bathroom space, seated bbq space and fire pits. Jacqui is a super wholesome and lovely host, who is more than willing to try and help out for anything you need, we were greeted by her and her little shadow Brookie, a cattle dog who just wants to love you and check in on you. If you’re wondering if Shepherd’s rest is worth the visit (or the drive, if you’re from Sydney) I can with confidence 100% say for certain. Just make sure to pack for the weather in the cooler months, cause it can get really cold of a night time. Thanks again for having us, Jacqui. :)

Shepherd's Rest is a magic little spot. We stayed in the Barn Room and it was so comfortable and cozy... Not that we were in it much! The property and amenities are awesome, so much secure space for the kids to roam, a beautiful bathroom (love the bath) and gorgeous little kitchen. The animals are very curious and friendly (especially Squashy the llama!) and our dog got on really well with Jacqui's own sweet doggo. Jacqui was an exceptional host, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to plan our next trip back!

We loved our stay at Horses for healing at Sussex Inlet and would highly recommend this spot for anyone who is looking to stay at quiet and secluded spot. The property was easy to find and host met us at arrival. Campground is located near the paddock with alpacas and a donkey (host told that we could pet them, but they were shy and kept their distance, so we decided not to disturb them). We saw many kangaroos during our stay as well. Overall nice spot and would try to come again during warmer months.

Beautiful site (& host!) Squashy the Llama is the first to greet you, so friendly! Goats kept kidding around. Sunrise & sunset overlooking the dam is so serene. Camp fire set-up was great. Host provided extra blankets (greatly appreciated) to sleep under the blanket of stars. You see so much in the night sky from there. Bring a telescope! Great comms from host, clear directions. Whole experience was so brilliant that we spent a lot less time exploring Canberra to spend more time at Shepherd's Rest, Mt Fairy. And we saw the water in Lake George!
