Blue Ridge Yurts is a woman-owned company in Floyd, Virginia, started by my mother, Sharon. We were staying at Treebones, a yurt 'glampground' in Big Sur, California, and fell in love with yurts together. My mom said, "I think I could build one of these," and the company was born! She does all the woodworking, using sustainable practices, with locally-sourced wood, and her best friend Kathy does the fabric end of things. I was one of her early guinea pigs, and love my yurt property dearly <3 This 24' yurt sits on a beautiful private acreage off an end-state maintenance road, with biking and hiking trails just a 20 minute drive from the touristy town of Floyd, Virginia. There's a steam shower sauna, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a deck overlooking the mountains with a table and seating. Enjoy!

Perfect Weekend!
This is truly a remote location but also 25-30 minutes to the east or west you are in Floyd, VA or Blacksburg, VA. The yurts are the epitome of glamping in my book! So eclectic and cozy! Erika is a fantastic hostess and she has made this place very cozy! If you get a chance.....BOOK THIS YURT!! Go to Floyd earlier on a Saturday for the open market. There is an amazing beer store on their lil main st....GO THERE!! And then The Farmhouse near Blacksburg....The food....Oh my word!! Make reservations or eat out on the bar patio/porch.....Did I mention their food?!!!! Back to the Yurts....You only need your clothes and groceries. If you forget a toiletry....likely it will be there in the bathroom.....Just book this place already! We actually wish that we had booked from Thursday-Sunday. There is a lot to do in the area and the Yurts are smack dab in the middle of two great areas!

The yurt was a fantastic place to stay. Lots of room. Quirky decor. Very comfortable. Everything you need in the kitchen. Clean and on a beautiful piece of land. We enjoyed the communal fire pit a lot and the dogs and cat were great companions. Definitely recommend.

Cozy Yurt with Kitchen, Wifi, Heat/AC
Erika's yurt was fabulous, we had so much fun just staying in and enjoying the space! It's well stocked with everything we needed, the loft bed was very comfortable, and Radar and Cosmo were the best welcoming committee and we loved the kitty company while there 😊 Will have to come back here again!!

This is our 4th year coming to the Yurt. We always appreciate the cozy, artsy vibe, the nooks to curl up in with a book, the hiking trails, and the proximity to Floyd. The kids especially enjoyed playing with the several dogs and cat that run the property and the garden hammock, and they love having their "own" yurt and the massive "tiny chair." The basics are all there (though a bit limited/worn out for cooking; if you're particular about things like chipping nonstick coatings or peeling paint on cookware, you might want to bring some of your own; but if you're keeping it basic, we had what we needed to cook multiple meals). There are always nice surprises as well - markers, books, tea, games - to explore as well. We will back back next fall to enjoy this unique place and beautiful land again.
