Between splashing through sandy shallows on Duck Lake and wandering between shady nooks in a majestic virgin pine stand, you may find yourself shedding stress like a boss!

Convenient and accessible Interlochen Duck Lake Modern Campground isn’t primarily about roughing it or even about recreation—it’s about enjoying the moment. A beach for swimming, a boat launch, and a stretch of beautiful old forest is all you need to knock loose from your regular routine and get living in the here and now.

Like all Michigan State Parks, Interlochen has a "day use fee". $9 for out of staters a day, or $31 for a year pass. Seeing as I'm not going to any other state parks in Michigan this year, I added $31 to the $108 fee for camping for 4 nights. Not cool. There's nothing to do at this state park except camp, boat & swim at a mini beach. The only hiking trail is closed indefinitely because of fallen trees. If you're using Interlochen as a base camp for Sleeping Bear Dunes, I would recommend a closer campground. We used a lot of gas to get there every day.
