Our stay at Moonshadow Camp was wonderful! Robb and Jeannie welcomed us on our first night. You can tell that the hosts are camping lovers themselves from all the thoughtful and run touches reflected in their amenities and the site itself. The community kitchen that they welcomed us to use is so cute and well put together.
We absolutely love staying on Robb and Jeanne’s land for so many reasons. They are the most gracious hosts and are always willing to lend a hand or share a good chat. There is something so peaceful and restorative sleeping among the pines. It’s also easy to share the space with other campers! Can’t wait to return!
The land was beautiful and the space was clean and the area provided everything we needed for a cozy night! Host’s recommended a dip in Lake Michigan and than use the shower they provided and it was perfect! Comes with fully equipped kitchen with cute little lit area. Hosts were kind and informative!!!
Robb and Jeanne gave great suggestions for spots to eat and explore! Camp is perfect; it’s quiet, off the beaten path, has everything you need, and is obviously a much loved spot! My husband and I camped for a couple days following our wedding weekend for some time away together and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay!
Robb and Jeanne’s Camp Moonshine was quite the treat for our 5 night stay mid September. For starters, there are so many fantastic places to see nearby. Robb offered up a lot of suggestions of places to go and as a family that operates with no itinerary, this was greatly appreciated. We tubed the Platte River, hiked Empire Bluffs, explored Frankfort and its beautiful beach and downtown, climbed the dunes, explored Traverse City, and enjoyed the day on Esch Beach and Otter Creek. These were just some of our adventures nearby. Our kids had a blast! They have an outdoor shower that is so relaxing and the site itself has great privacy if you are looking to get away from the busy camping spots that are packed full of people. The next time we come we won’t pack as much because there is a little hill to bring all of your stuff up to which was quite the feat unloading. To be fair, I would say we don’t pack minimally. But you don’t really need to bring that much because their outdoor kitchen has everything you might need to cook. No campfires at your site but there is a large community camp fire which we frequented and met some other travelers (while my 5 year old talked their ears off I’m sure). This camp spot is so thoroughly designed with all of the smallest details being addressed. I’ve camped quite a bit in my life and I was so impressed! Robb was so friendly and we enjoyed chit chatting with him daily. Thanks Robb for a fantastic stay!
