Castle Rocks Campground
Description
Sitting atop of Smokey Mountain range at a breathtaking—yes, pun intended—7,200 feet, Castle Rocks Campground is one of the highest elevated places to pitch a tent in all of Idaho. Nestled within the state’s largest sector of pinyon pines, the area’s paved camping pads offer a secluded getaway from the mind-chatter that’s orchestrated by the concrete jungles many of us call home. It also boasts flush toilets, showers, a dump station, and electricity, plus 2 yurts and a handful of equestrian sites. There's a plethora of activities to do in each season (this campground is on top of a mountain, so we bet you can guess which ones), and is home to wildlife like mule deer, moose, mountain lion, coyote, and more.
