Lake Griffin Campground
Description
This 40-site campground is a convenient place to unwind after a day adventuring around Lake Griffin or cruising through central Florida on a road trip. Just moments off Highway 441, each shady spot has its own picnic table, potable water, electricity, and campfire grill. If you’re wilting from the humidity, the clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities will perk you right back up. Well-behaved pets are welcome, and kids are too. There’s a playground, kids’ programs, and the Bedtime Story Camper Lending Library is stocked with picture books for campers age four to nine. There’s also a boat launch, canoe rentals, amphitheatre, and plentiful wildlife (including gators, and insects---bug spray is a must.) If you’re looking for deep solitude, this isn’t your best bet. But if you’re looking for a well-maintained park with family-friendly activities and a lake to explore, this charming campground could be just what you’re looking for.
