Off-leash friendly
Pets can be off-leash at this Hipcamp.
This cozy, partially screened guest hut is situated on 200 sweeping acres of pastureland and steep, rolling hillsides. Floor to ceiling windows on the west side allow for a gorgeous view of the mountains and the lovely night sky. Composting toilet and hot water shower with equally impressive views. Enjoy the view, hike, bike, horseback ride, relax by the creek, swim the Columbia or Kettle River and fish Elbow Lake. So much to do and all super close or actually on the property! Hut is 100% off grid Iron Mountain Ranch features the owner's hand built straw bale house which is run off solar power, a friendly herd of horses along with a few cats and three dogs. (look up the ranch social media accounts online for additional pictures). Since this hut is built with partially screened walls and partial solid walls, you should consider the season when requesting a booking. I will accept bookings starting on May 1st but even in May the night time temps can be cold. Checking the local Northport, WA weather forecast can give you an idea of what weather we will be expecting. Please consider this luxurious tent camping as there is no heat source in the hut, no electricity or running water. Please bring lanterns, flashlights, headlamps etc. The futon is a queen size and I can provide sheets and bedding but prefer you bring your own if possible as we have no laundry facilities on the ranch. ***There is a very limited supply of potable water on the property so you are required to pack in your drinking and cooking water. Washing and shower water is provided.*** In the early spring and late fall we cover the screened walls of the hut with clear window plastic so that the nights are not very cold inside the screen house. We provide a propane buddy heater that is safe for indoor use to help keep the space warm for you!! Utilize the unique composting toilet, our own design which became the first approved toilet of it's kind in the county. A hot water shower with equally impressive views is close to the straw house but still as private as you need it to be. Once owned by the Lael family (whom the road is named after), this land supported lots of horses in it's past. The Lael family homsteaded this area, raising horses on their acerage and the original Lael house is still standing on the lower section of the property. Old and beautiful apple, plum, cherry and pear trees still thrive in the orchard they planted along with massive willow trees. I'm honored to continue the Lael's love for the equine with my own herd of horses. Horseback riding is available upon request and for an additional fee of $75 per person for a ride. This super cozy, partially screened guest house is situated on 200 sweeping acres of flat pastureland and steep, rolling hillsides.  Huge floor to ceiling windows on the west side allow for a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains and the lovely night sky. (find Iron Mountain Ranch on social media for more photos) The property features the owner's hand built straw bale house which is run off solar power, a friendly herd of horses along with some goofy goats, cats and dogs. The Screen House is approximately 100 feet from the owners straw bale house. We value your privacy. During the early spring season and late fall we cover the screen walls with a clear window plastic to help the hut stay warmer for you. We can also provide a small propane heater inside the hut but we ask that you bring your own propane canister. A two burner propane cookstove is provided along with a small charcoal grill but please bring your own propane and charcoal. We have firewood available for the fire pit for free. A private outhouse for guests is now available just a short walk from the hut. Lindsay is a fabulous host. Iron Mountain Ranch is beautiful. Lindsay ensures that you have a comfortable stay. She welcomes you onsite, answers any questions you have, and helps out when you forget a thing or two. The ranch itself is quiet, peaceful and can’t wait to return to visit it again. Very comfortable accommodations and love being on Lindsay’s working horse ranch.

Lindsay lives in a beautiful place and I'm so grateful that she chooses share it with guests! My son and I loved the horses, dogs, and cats. The screen room was so peaceful and comfortable. It was awesome waking up to birds chirping. Our puppy had such a fun time as well and made a new best friend with one of her dogs!

My kids and I didn't want to leave! The property is spacious, with wonderful views and welcoming hosts. Anything we had forgotten, they were generous to lend us what we needed. The outdoor shower was an amazing experience, and among our favorites. The hikes are beautiful, and the creek was nice to cool off in. I highly recommend a stay at Iron Mountain Ranch!

We loved going out to Linday's Screen House. The views and property are quite amazing and we got to enjoy both beautiful sunrises and sunsets while staying here. This place is an animal lovers dream. We were able to visit kittens, dogs, and horses while we stayed here. The host was amazing about organizing a horseback trip for my boyfriend and I during our stay. This allowed us to see the property, and she was able to show us some super spectacular spots that we were able to visit on our own as well. The screen house was closer to the hosts than we had anticipated but the hosts gave us lots of space and were great about accommodating the semi-reactive dog that we had with us. If you are looking for an eco-friendly farm escape with spectacular views, this would be a fantastic choice.

The hosts were super nice. We loved seeing the animals and giving them treats. The screen house felt secluded even though it was close to the hosts house, and the honeysuckle was in full bloom so we had a lovely smelling stay and the rain on the tin roof was seriously relaxing. Their dogs were very well behaved despite our skittish puppy, and the hosts checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The weather didn't cooperate and it rained for a while each morning, but the hosts provided campfire supplies so we were able to warm up in the morning and dry out anything not in the screen house. The hosts were kind enough to share their local water spots and we had a great time in on the riverbank with nobody around. It felt special. The only downside if I had to give one is some of the trails they mapped out were overgrown and so halfway through we were bushwacking. The puppy had a blast, though, and got to confront a lot of new things in a fun way. Time and money we'll spent!
