Homesteaders in the 1800s attempted to settle along the banks of the river and nearly didn’t make it. Now, campers and anglers flood in to ride off road, engage in fishing tournaments, and hike the 3,500 scenic acres of coves, beaches and blue waters. Hope Acres has beautiful Bell Tents that are placed on elevated decks with comfortable queen beds and some twins. Each tent boasts air conditioning that provides the comforts of home while enjoying the outdoors. Each camp site offers a personal bathroom as well as a shower, picnic table, high speed internet, hammock, BBQ and outdoor sink, amenities for an enjoyable experience. The Store

Located exactly halfway between Salt Lake and Moab, The Store is a historic 113 year-old general store building that originally served the coal miners who lived and worked in the small former mining town of Kenilworth. Now, it's a creative retreat, art space and desert permaculture site. We have a large indoor co-working/art studio space (and gigabit wifi) should you like to be productive during your stay. Or simply relax and enjoy the peace, quiet and serenity that this mountain sanctuary provides. We are also surrounded by wilderness and outdoor recreation opportunities, including endless hiking, mountain biking and ATV trails. The nearby artists colony of Helper has lots of amenities and offerings including a floatable river with beaches and swimming holes. Within 30 minutes’ drive are several major tourist attractions such as Nine Mile Canyon, Gordon Creek Falls, and the San Rafael Swell.

Wood Hill Campground

A mountain bikers dream. Over 50 miles of mountain bike trails connected to the property. Some are wide dirt roads that are shared with vehicles, ATVs and others. But there are also several single track bike trails to enjoy. With 238 acres, you will feel like you are the only one there. In addition, the Desert Wave Pool is at the foot of the hill which always has the same amount of water for cooling off even when the lakes are nearly empty. Learn more about this land: Wood Hill got its name because early settlers to the area used to gather wood to heat their homes on top of the plateau. It is a favorite hangout for locals who enjoy riding mountain bikes and ATVs on the property. Proceeds from the camp sites will be used to develop a climbing gym, zip line, confidence course and other fun amenities. So we hope you enjoy your stay enough to come back often.

Welcome to Sandstone Ranch where you'll find yourself surrounded with all of the high desert beauty it has to offer. Wake up and wind down to beautiful pastel sunrises and sunsets. Explore the stunning rock formations and steep cliff sides that lead into seasonal river beds. You'll be surrounded by juniper trees, pine trees, sagebrush and cactus. With numerous rivers and secluded access to Starvation Reservoir you can enjoy many recreational activities such as Fishing, Boating, Kayaking, Jet Skiing, ATV off-roading, hiking, mountain biking. You can rent Paddle boards or other camping gear/goods from us for an extra fee. We also offer a personal off roading tour for those who seek a unique adventure with our Sand Dune Jeep Safari. Our family of 6 took the leap and left the city life in order to reconnect to the land on this 11 acre property. We are in the beginnings of our homestead journey and hope to create a space for guests like you to enjoy our animal rescue, camp retreats for groups, classes on herbalism and camp for kids where they can learn basic survival skills. It is this love for nature and the gifts that it offers to us all that we want to share our land with others. We currently offer 1 Tent Site with a fire pit and an outhouse. There is also a large flat pad for parking an RV or if you're wanting to camp out of your vehicle you are free to use this space. We will be expanding and offering more sites in the coming months. This is wilderness camping so be aware that there is wildlife and that roads are bumpy. We have 4 curious dogs that may check you out, they are friendly however may bark and if you have pets of your own let us know so we can keep them from pestering you. This is a very natural place with awesome rock formations, abundant wildlife etc. I did find an ancient axe head years ago in one of the crevices. Up above camp is a rock formation I have always called "Mike Rushmore". Learn more about this land: This is a really cool place and I get a lot of compliments from those that have been here or have seen it. It's a hikers paradise with lots of rock features, sandy areas, tons of trees, wildlife and all the beautiful plant life of a high desert. The lake is close by for Fishing, kayaking, boating, or just a good ole swim about 10 minutes away. So, here is what you get on my 15 acres. Me, as your host to show you around and let you pick from several spots available where you would like to camp on the upper 5 acres for RV, truck, tent,, etc. I can accomidate whatever. For those that want the natural experience I suggest down below. So cool. There is no one right next to me to the north, south, east, or west. Very private. It is off grid.. This is a residential area but the homes here are on 4+ acres, so there is plenty of space.We frequently see deer, rabbits, and an array of birds including bald eagles. Beautiful view of desert and Kings Peak. We have a bicycle pump track, trampoline, kids play set, farm animals for viewing. We offer additional farm experiences.For our animals' safety, no outside pets are allowed without prior permission and an extra set of rules. Even the best of house pets are potentially a risk for our small farm animals, please let us know if any pets will be camping.

Need to make a pit stop or just looking for a short getaway? Camp Sage under the Milky Way is exactly what you get. This is a great rest area tucked away behind a hilly landscape and out of sight of Hwy 40. Wake up to the smell of sage where you will feel relaxed, calm yet experience the invigorating sense of earthy goodness. Go to bed under the stars and if you're a late nighter you'll be mesmerized at the sight of the stunning Milky Way. There is a tent pad able to fit up to 6 people, a fire ring and spacious horseshoe driveway for parking multiple vehicles or a small to midsize RV/Camper trailer. Newly installed is a rustic country style privacy fence. This is a no frills campsite where you will need to provide your own water, toilet and firewood (We can provide firewood for an extra fee). There is a rest stop with restrooms just down the road going east on hwy 40 if needed. Pack it in and pack it out.
