Deer Creek Campground

Visitors to the Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument area often rave that it’s one of their favorite outdoor trips, like, ever. And it’s easy to see why—you can explore majestic canyons before sleeping under the clear night sky covered in a blanket of stars in a remote canyon…yeah, it’s pretty great. If you’re looking for a "developed" campground in the Escalante Canyons area, though, you’ve got two options. One is Deer Creek, and we say “developed” because there’s isn’t a whole lot in the way of amenities. Like water, for example. Be sure to plan ahead for that important little detail. But, what you’re lacking in modernity, you’ll make up for in sweet, sweet seclusion. This campground only has seven sites, which means you won’t have to fight the crowds.
