Site 6 Behind the Barn
in Foxglove Cottage and Campsite, PennsylvaniaPast trip
in 2000 Acre Wood at Jeffers Farms, PennsylvaniaThis is not a review of the actual site as I had to cancel the morning of. But Jennifer was so hospitable from the very moment I requested to book, to the last minute cancellation, I just had to give her a good review. I cannot wait to camp at the site and will be doing so as soon as possible.
Past trip
in Camp Blackbird, PennsylvaniaThis was my first time booking through Hipcamp and after experiencing this site I will be doing it more. The hosts were wonderful with communication and everything needed to comfortably camp in privacy was provided. Even the little port-a-potty was pristine (for a portable toilet that is). After following a long drive way down the mountain property you come to an area to park and walk about 100 feet to the campsite. In my opinion this site is the perfect combination of convenience and "roughing it". Also, the space is quite large and fit our enormous 6 man tent, although the larger the tent you have the more you will feel the pitch of the hill the site sits on top of. It is only gradual but with a 100 sq. ft. tent footprint it was unavoidable. Normal sized tents will be comfortable. The ground is cleared and with a good sleeping pad, I felt nothing underneath me. We were able to hear what I believe was coyotes howling at night in the distance? Also in the distance were a few fisherman on the lake overnight fishing. they did not disturb the privacy at all. We hiked the trails from camping area which lead to the lake in 2 different directions. Unfortunately could only stay one night but this would be a great base-camp site to explore the area. Thanks again Sarah and Stein.
Tara hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.

Site 3 High Site Tent/Car
in Peace & Quiet by the River!, PennsylvaniaSite 3 High Site Tent/Car
in Peace & Quiet by the River!, PennsylvaniaLoved this camp! The drive up to campsite (3) is surreal. I actually stopped driving to star at the view. Campsite is perfect with everything you need right there. Lots of trails around the property. Campsite 2 had some partiers but the site is far enough away that they were t a bother. I camped alone with my dog and this is extremely dog friendly. The plan is to come back in the fall!
Saddlebred Station
in Bellview Farm, MarylandGreat surprise with this adorable campsite with a view to the horse and sheep pastures. Also, the most luxurious port a potty known to man! The weather was bad but that's not anyone's fault. Chickens goats, sheep, Great communication with the hosts who were there when needed and respected our privacy. If you're traveling on 95 in a camper and need a place to rest, take the extra 15 min drive and stay here! or if you're a tent camper and want a peaceful weekend, stay here! One thing to note, some traffic noise from the secluded road in but it's minor and not audible at night.
Site 4 - Running W
in Running W, New YorkLoved this as much as my 4 year old
This is the 2nd farm trip with just myself and my 4 year old. We previously camped at a farm in PA and that experience was hard to beat but what set this one apart completely was the campsites themselves. It depends on your preference of course but I prefer a wooded setting over camping in a pasture or near the farmhouse. The sites at Running W are a mix of both.
They're located down the rocky farm road through the woods and each is set off in the corners of a clearing. This is a short walk up the trail/road to the farm. We had site 4 which is the first site you see when entering the clearing. I felt privacy but also not too secluded. The other campers knew each other (they were repeat visitors) and they were far enough away that had they been up late it wouldn't have been much of an issue (they were lovely btw and completely respectful). Skye and Jim (if I remember his name correctly) are available but give you privacy. So friendly but not intrusive. The other people on the farm were the same. My daughter loved every part of this experience. This is a 4 hour trip we'll be making again. Just a note- there's spotty cell coverage and connection on the farm and down the road so keep that in mind if you're dependent on your wifi.
Site 6 Behind the Barn
in Foxglove Cottage and Campsite, PennsylvaniaWish we stayed longer.
The perfect farm stay camp especially if you have small children with you. Mary and her husband are extremely generous and friendly but they also give you privacy. My 3 yr old daughter and I got to camp next to goats and the free range alpacas. It seemed we had the barn to ourselves for visits with chickens and 2 barn cats roaming about. Very friendly and calm miniature donkeys and horses for petting. Unfortunately we couldn't stay our entire planned trip but I'm hoping we come back in the fall. The farm has beautiful scenery especially the rolling mountain view behind the cattle pen. You likely won't find anything like this anywhere close. Very special place and awesome hosts.

bring bug spray and water. Water is heavy. canoe in and walk about 1 mile to the Little Levels campsite. Otherwise, walk the 4.5 miles in soft sand.
