Past trip
in San Bernardino National Forest, CaliforniaGreat access to the water's edge of Big Bear Lake, and good views of the town of Big Bear. Nature Center nearby has several trailheads and lots of info!
Past trip
in Mount San Jacinto State Park, CaliforniaNearby neighborhood has potential for some noise, especially in the evening. Otherwise a very calm and peaceful campground! Gorgeous paths within campground for exploring with kids and pets. Walking distance to town, but it's a long walk - I recommend driving into town, but walking inside campground. Nature Center nearby offers discount tickets for accessing its trails and museum if you're a camper!
Past trip
in Death Valley National Park, CaliforniaGreat access to Badwater Basin and Devil's Golfcourse. Spring for a luxury and pay a small fee to have daily access to the pool area of the hotel next door to campground!
Past trip
in San Elijo State Beach, CaliforniaNatalia R.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
Easy access, but not for those that want to get away from it all! Great starter camping spot for kids or folks who need amenities nearby.
Past trip
in Cleveland National Forest, CaliforniaFantastic campground! Pacific Crest Trail is easily accessible from anywhere on the campground, there's a great restaurant walking distance just outside of campground entrance, and each site is a bit unique. They have coin-operated showers and some bathrooms are flush. Well-maintained.
Past trip
in Palomar Mountain State Park, CaliforniaGreat mountain getaway! The observatory is nearby for a daytime visit. Lots of shade, so prepare for cooler temps even in summer time. Beautiful skies in the mountain, but you need to hike a little to see it because of the trees.
