Past trip
in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, CaliforniaI recommend reserving a site beforehand. We got lucky and were able to snag one of the last sites without making plans ahead of time. I would definitely make a reservation in the future.
Past trip
in Inyo National Forest, CaliforniaAnother beautiful campground that is often pretty full. I would definitely make reservations ahead of time and if possible, I would reserve either site 49 or 51. If you're going with a small group I recommend getting both. You'll have a lot of space to yourselves and you're very close to the creek.
Past trip
in Death Valley National Park, CaliforniaFantastic gem of a campground. Being in such a hot place, it's imperative to find a site that will give you ample shade throughout the day. There are a few with some good trees but I would say the best is site #26. Quite possibly the best tree coverage in the whole campground.
Past trip
in Joshua Tree National Park, CaliforniaThis is a great campground especially for hiking. There are trails that start straight out of the campground so no driving necessary. One thing to note is this campground has no roads leading further into the park so it's a good 20 minute drive from the campground to the park entrance. If you want to be able to navigate the park more, I would recommend one of the other grounds located deeper within the park.
Past trip
in Joshua Tree National Park, CaliforniaReally fun campground to be in with a lot of really good sites. I recommend finding a site that gives the best possible protection from wind because it can be very windy at times in Joshua Tree, especially at night.
Jake hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
