Wilde River Farm Tent Camping
in Wilde River Farm, CaliforniaGoats, dogs and a campsite cat!
Maritza and her family were very welcoming. They have a little slice of perfection along Klamath River. I really enjoyed the hammock at camp site #1 where I read my book and watched a handful of rafters and kayakers go by during the day. Nestled in a valley next, there were beautiful stars at night.
An orange cat hung out at my campsite the entire time. One of their dogs frequently came by to say hello (especially around dinner đ). The goats were curious and loved extra scraps of food.
The actual campsite and the whole property was thoughtfully put together with care.

(Dispersed site)
Very quiet and tranquil! The first night there was only one other open camper. The second night several more cars showed up, but they were so far away I didnât notice them in the evening.
It was chilly and rainy during most of my stay, so the sauna was great. It did take a lot longer to heat up than expected (30+ minutes) but was worth the wait.
Very much set up for the independent, self-sustaining camper who enjoys an a couple extra perks.
Past trip
in Death Valley National Park, CaliforniaCentral Location with Drinking Water and Bathrooms
This is a good central spot for getting to Badwater Basin and Zabriske Point and similar spots easily.
No hookups but plenty of access points for drinking water. Bathrooms were clean.
Spots are pretty close together so donât expect much privacy here. Surrounding rocks and view were pretty during sunrise and sunset.
As itâs Death Valley, roaming only cell signal. The Ranch (5-10 min drive) has ample parking and Paid Wi-Fi if needed.
Past trip
in Zion National Park, UtahIn the morning and evening, the mule deers hang out in the grass surrounding the campground. They donât fear the people or the noisy RV groups. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The campground is walking distance to the pedestrian entrance of Zion and Springdale. Zion Brewing is literally right there. The Visitor Center is a tad bit further where you can pick up the shuttle on the weekends to the hikes along the Zion Scenic Drive. Make sure to get your ticket ahead of time or jump on the app at exactly 5PM MT to get your $1 shuttle ticket. They DO turn away people trying to get on the shuttle without a ticket. Decent Sprint LTE cell signal here.
