in Dew Valley Ranch Nature Retreat, OregonWagMore (site #1--Valley View)
in Camp WagMore, CaliforniaMy husband and I did a roadtrip from LA and we decided to spend a night at Camp WagMore.
+ Lori is a great host with fantastic communication. She provided ample information to make our stay enjoyable and was very easy to reach in case we needed everything
+ The property is easy to find, and there are lots of signage on the campgrounds to sites and water that were really helpful
+ The site has an AMAZING view of Hollister Peak and also views of the valley
+ Property was clean, large, and fun to explore
+ Great stargazing at night, beautiful sunsets, and love the sound of nature all around us. We fell asleep to an owl hooting. It doesn't get any better than that.
+ Just a 15 minute drive to Morro Bay which is a MUST VISIT when you're here. Plan a day trip to Morro Bay and enjoy the quaint little harbor town.
We really enjoyed the property and the spectacular views. There were a few other hipcampers on other sites, but the property was huge and we felt completely remote. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to camp :)
Note: Part of the road to the private party is on unpaved dirt roads and there are some steep areas, but it was not a huge issue with our Escape Campervan. Just something to take into consideration when booking.
A bar and a tent in the desert
in 5ACRES Mojave, CaliforniaSite 1 - LovelightTentsite & Car Camping
in The Lovelight Ranch, CaliforniaLovelight was such a great experience. Julie and the other hosts on the property were so accommodating and really welcomed us into their beautiful home. They've created such a creative, fluid, and inviting space that made for the perfect getaway. It gets quite hot in the desert, but the property had lots of misters and even a great pool. The pool was so clutch and kept us entertained and cool all day. We loved the outdoor kitchen with a running sink, and there was even a refrigerator to keep our beverages and food cold. I've read a couple concerns about the outdoor shower being too exposed, but it looks like the owners really took that into consideration and made improvements. They added a leaning wooden shutter door, a curtain, and a burlap sheet. It does the job and still preserves to the laid back aesthetic of the property. We showered with comfort and privacy! The glorified outhouse was immaculate and clean. It had a solar powered lamp inside, running water sink, a flush toilet, and Asian-inspired decor. The property is eccentric and vibrant just like our hosts -- full of neat nooks to explore, very happy dogs that are great company, and plenty of places you can pitch a tent.
Ojai Mountaintop Treehouse
in Sublime Ojai Mountaintop, CaliforniaMy husband and I are avid campers and like to camp whenever we're traveling. We had a wedding in Filmore to attend and so we knew we had to take advantage of the weekend and squeeze in some camping. Ojai Mountaintop Treehouse was our FIRST Hipcamp experience. We popped our Hipcamp cherry!
This place was nothing short of AMAZING. All I have to say is VIEWS, VIEWS VIEWS. Every angle of this property was overlooking Ventura County. The property is massive -- so much to explore and best of all, all to ourselves. Alex, our host, really put so much attention and thought into making sure he provided the best experience for his guests.
+ Very sound and sturdy tree house construction. It wasn't creaky or wobbly. We felt very safe solid. SO much in fact, we decided to sleep in it. It kept us very warm and night that we were able to leave our rainfly off our tent, windows and doors to treehouse open, and we didn't even use our sleeping bags.
+ Toilet is very clean, and tucked in the corner. There was ample toilet paper, seat covers, hand soap, and water! It's really well maintained and we felt very comfortable using it.
+ The mountaintop had no shortage of activities to keep you occupied. There was badminton, frisbee golf, and croquet. There is even a nice swing and hammock that are under shady trees. We spend most of out time bird watching (turkey vultures gliding around) and soaking in the views!
+ TONS OF SHADE! it can get quite hot up in these mountains, but there are large trees everywhere providing lots of shade. We always had a nice, cool place to relax...and there was always a wonderful breeze.
We had an incredible experience here, and can't say enough good things about Alex and his property! 10/10 would do again.
