Past trip
in Moab Field Office, UtahCamping here is INCREDIBLE. The views are unreal if you get a good spot. It's first come first serve so show up earlier in the day and pay for your spot and leave some things out to mark that it's taken. There isn't much tree cover but it gets breezy at night. This is a great spot if you are visiting Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point. I would also recommend mountain biking or hiking in Dead Horse Point. The whole trail has amazing views.
Past trip
in Moab Field Office, UtahCamping here is beautiful and right on the river! There isn't any shade so expect it to be HOT during the summer. We were there in August and while it was sweltering mid day, it was actually pretty breezy at night. You are very close to the road so you can see headlights and hear cars as they pass. There is a toilet but take a big breath before you venture in... it's ripe after being in the Moab sun all day. All in all, beautiful and super accessible. I would absolutely camp here again!
Past trip
in Uncompahgre National Forest, ColoradoThis campground is gorgeous! Make sure your car is up for the trek though. We made it up in our campervan but it was a little dicey at times. Everything is well spread out and it's dispersed camping. We didn't have any issues with people being too close. Spectacular views along the way! I would absolutely recommend camping here if you want to visit Telluride. It is close enough but far enough away that you don't get stuck with crowds or big groups
Past trip
in Nantahala National Forest, North CarolinaAbsolutely beautiful! Panthertown Valley is great because once you backpack in, you won't see many others! Make sure to bring a bear bag and hang your food away from your campsite!!! The bears are around here :). Also, be cautious crossing the river if you have any open cuts/scrapes or disinfect immediately.
Past trip
in Curry Hammock State Park, FloridaThis campground is a lot better than some of the others in the keys! There's enough beach that you can comfortably walk and the sites are spaced well. You can't really swim in the water here unless you want to wade through a bunch of seagrass. The sunset here was gorgeous! Would definitely camp here again.
Past trip
in Nantahala National Forest, North CarolinaGo early to get a spacious site. If you don't care about space, you will probably always find a site in the off season. It does get busier in the warmer weather but the sites are well spaced. There's a nearby hike to a waterfall that is mediocre. I would suggest going somewhere else to hike but the camping is great and free!
