You are within easy reach of White Sands National Park, Hueco Tanks Park, Franklin Mountain Park, and all the amenities of El Paso ,Texas. We are located smack in the middle of desert in Chaparral, NM. We have two short term rentals on the property. The Desert Dome and Harvey the Skoolie. Both are unique stays. We love to show people the beauty the desert has to offer. We also live on site and are around to answer any questions or help you out.
We want all of our guests to be able to enjoy their stay and have as much privacy as possible. Both stays have a fire pit and their own hang out area.
There are farm animals on the property! Your fur babies are welcome, we only ask you keep them leashed at all time.

Beautiful desert land with a view of Hueco Tanks State Park. This land is barely starting up so do not expect any glamping or 5 star facilities. There is electricity for RVs or window units for tents. There's also a porta potty. There is a little trash here and there but I am working on cleaning this place up. Be patient and enjoy it for what it is. All natural! Be safe, this is the desert and home to critters, spiders, horned frogs, lizards, ants, cayotes, and probably snakes although I haven't seen any. There is a little shed where you can cook, get some shade, or just relax. The mesquite trees are being worked on so they are not big enough to provide decent shade. Be safe, be smart and have water with you at all times. There is no water, and no showers. But I am working on it! This spot is perfect for those hip campers visiting Hueco Tanks and need a spot to park or rest. It's for hip campers that are used to primitive camping and also to the people in the city that want to get away for a night or two but not drive too far out. The sunsets and stargazing are amazing. Far from the city but close enough to a 10 min drive to a grocery store.

Dakota was very quick to respond to my messages. We arrived after dark to a very neat and tidy site, with a very nice and level grass area to pitch our tents. The location is a working, active vineyard, and if we had had more time I would have loved to check out more of it and the wines they offered. We were just on a quick one nighter on our way to Arizona. The bathroom was very clean, the firepit was large and generous; the camping was amazing with coyotes howling all through the night. A very well kept secret just off the beaten path. Thanks for the cool spot, Dakota!

Hacienda RV Resort is not something I would expect to find on Hipcamp. Its a full-fledged RV Resort with all the bells and whistles. The only downside is there's no privacy. So, if you like camping for solitude, this isn't the place, otherwise, its awesome!

Easy to get to with ample space to maneuver our 27' class A and tow vehicle to our site one. Given the fact that site 2 was vacant we were able to drive thru that site to site 1. However, there is ample space to get to either site even if one is occupied.
Ray and Lucille were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. We have a young dog who is new to us and still in training. Their dogs and ours were frequently "talking" to one another due to the proximity of their fenced private area and site 1. After site 2 was vacated by an over nighters rv we switched to site 2 which was a better fit for all.
The location of Pecan Grove was perfect for our week-long getaway. Peaceful, relaxing, cool temps, days trips to: Old Mesilla, Hatch, White Sands NP, Alamogordo, Organ Mtns.
We would stay at Ray and Lucille's anytime again! No hesitations.

Overview
About
This urban park in El Paso commemorates the settlement of a 100-year boundary dispute between the United States and Mexico. A resolution adopted in the Chamizal Treaty of 1963 brought a peaceful end to the dispute. The grounds celebrate the diverse borderland cultures in a variety of vibrant ways.
The memorial's 55 acres are covered with wide, hard-packed gravel trails ideal for walking, jogging and biking. There's plentiful access to water and shaded benches.
The Cultural Center features an array of fascinating self-guided museum exhibits. The Franklin G. Smith Gallery is filled with striking artwork depicting the region's history. Artists contribute work that reflects the history and landscape of the borderlands. Their work also supports the park's mission of commemorating the resolution of the dispute.
A vibrant hub for the performing arts, there's a variety of engaging activities. There's a live performance almost every weekend in the 500-seat indoor theater. An outdoor stage hosts concerts during the warmer months. The cooler temps of October bring visitors to the annual Chamizal Cultural Festival. This signature event celebrates the heritage of the border region through performances. Don't miss the annual Music Under the Stars concert series.
