While exploring the miles of undeveloped beaches, keep your eyes out on the water for pods of dolphins frolicking. You might see rays and loggerhead turtles while you collect shells and build sandcastles on this barrier island. Bring your poles to St. George Island State Park to catch some sea trout, pompano whiting, flounder, redfish, sea trout, and more.
The park offers kayak and canoe rentals for a day on the water. This Florida state park has four miles of paved road and five miles of unpaved roads to ride your bike.
In the pinewood flats behind the sand dunes, you'll find 60 campsites. Many of these sites include hammocks for taking life a little easier. Kids can burn off energy at the playground while adults shower in one of the two restrooms.
There's a dump station, electricity, and water hookups. Gap Point has two "carry in, carry out" campgrounds with room for 12 people each. You can bring your pet on a six-foot leash, but they can't stray onto the beach.
