Description

Sometimes, you want to be in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, you just want it easy. Starr Campground, just off Highway 395, offers effortless access to 11 camping trailer sites set amongst the Ponderosa Pines. Haul yourself out of bed early to to grab a spot in the lower section of the campground--with more trees to block the sound, you can forget reality is just a few pines away. The true beauty of Starr, though, is its ‘hood--jump in the car for a short drive and end up in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness or amongst the beautiful Logan Valley. And don’t leave home without a pit stop at Murderers Creek to catch a glimpse of wild, wild horses.

We camped in 80's before having to pay. Hubs was a hunter. I was alone all day. Outhouse was clean and 1 faucet of potable water. I would not recommend a woman being alone, as I was, since hubs was out during archery season. 2 men came thru slowly while I was outside. I was being checked out and I had a gun covered on the table. I was scared. I could scream out there and no one would hear a thing. Camp with friends please. I knew I was being checked out they were obvious. I never went again. Hubs went to Snow Mt after that, that was his favorite place anyway. It was nice and quiet other than that. Don't leave women alone out there. That was my experience. Sincerely, Pati Hall Portland Oregon.
