From horseshoes to horseback riding, you’ll find plenty to do during your stay at the Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area. With three sites that accommodate large groups of campers (one sleeps 50, the others 150), Lake Vesuvius is great for bachelor parties, family reunions, or even just a gathering of your closest 100 camping buddies! Named for the nearby old Vesuvius iron furnace, the area’s rich history includes the lake itself, created in the 1930s, and an ancient cave that dates back to 700BC! Spelunkers, go nuts.
