An iconic Aussie hut with added creature comforts. The Hobbit House, as it’s affectionately called, is nestled into the gardens behind the trees, looking out over the river flats where the Kalang River passes through. Suits couples. Everything provided for your stay, just BYO food and toiletries. It was built in the 1980s as Bellingen Shire was still growing as a hippie hang out. The charm is the handmade mud brick & reclaimed timber construction, the composting loo, the semi-detached bathroom, the indoors wood fire heating & the Hobbit style stairs and doors. With reverse cycle aircon, TV, internet, grid mains electricity & a cosy double bedroom, it’s an experience in retreat-style bush living with some creature comforts. Hours of walking, star gazing, bird song, swimming in the river, cosy firepit evenings, and visiting the local Bello cafes and shops makes a lovely weekend getaway. We live on the property, close by. If you love the outdoors Aussie bush and all it entails including lizards on the roof & nocturnal antechinus sightings this is for you.

Healing & Nourishing

Hobbit House Grownups Glamping

The Hobbit Home was truly a healing and nourishing space for my beloved and I. When we weren’t exploring the land, we spent most of our time reading, playing board games, drinking tea, relaxing in the tub and feeding the fire. Bec and Jeff offer a warm and cosy abode amongst the natural elements. They were easy to communicate with, created a comfortable environment and upon our request, offered us another night stay. We’re so grateful to have spent this time away to rest, reset and appreciate the simple joys in life. We look forward to one day returning to the Hobbit Home. Thank you 🌞 Saff and Jax (Saja)

Hobbit House Grownups Glamping

This place is magical. I can’t recommend it enough. I can’t get over just how beautiful the area is. The drive out was beautiful, the house had everything you could possibly need. The creek in the back yard was magical. I’ll definitely be back. I could live here.

Hobbit House Grownups Glamping

We loved the comfy eclectic hobbit house. It was the perfect place to unplug. Glamping at its best with AC Wifi (in case you don’t want to in plug) and a nice shower. The hosts were great and took us down to the river that runs through the back of the property. It would be a great place to cool off on a hot day. A little slice of heaven. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved staying at the hobbit hut.. We are always looking for something a little different and unique😊 The hobbit hut was so cute and cozy, we absolutely loved the place (especially the bathroom). The serenity of the property and beautiful creek to swim in was lovely as was bec. We would love to come back ♥️
