It's simply the best camping you can get in the White Mountains.
Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's most treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an ecofriendly, Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Thank you for being a part of the healing. We hope you enjoy what we have created here :)
Sacred Nectar Sanctuary offers a serene camping experience, praised for its expansive beauty and well-maintained sites. The addition of a sauna and communal areas adds to the appeal, with many campers noting the welcoming and attentive nature of the host, Nick. While most reviews are highly positive, a few mention challenges with finding the site and some construction around the area. Overall, it's a peaceful retreat with stunning views, making it a favorite for many returning visitors.
Another awesome stay at Sacred Nectar Sanctuary! We explored snowy trails, experienced the sauna and cold plunge, had a fire at our site at night and was plowed out in the morning by Nick after some snowfall overnight. It’s always so beautiful and peaceful here.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at Nick's camping site! The site was spacious, super clean, and very well managed overall. Despite our last-minute booking, Nick was incredibly responsive, flexible, and attentive, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. We truly wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely return to explore other sites (#5) and try the sauna. Highly recommended!
Such a unique spot with beautiful views. Everything from the trails to the camp sites were well maintained. Cannot wait to go back, definitely recommend.
Nick is very welcoming and knows a lot about the surrounding area. The camp is Pristine... they truly are sacred sites, so peaceful and quiet. Clearly they have gone to a lot of effort to make this a truly magical place to stay. The sauna is really neat and the outhouses are downright charming. It is like Nick is playing out his dream camp and is so kindly sharing it with other hip campers. It’s clean and spacious and I would love to bring my entire family to stay here. It’s also not too far to drive to a cute little town with a country store, coffee shops, a library and other amenities.
This campsite was exceptional. Very spacious, the views are great, and plenty secluded.
