Lake Garfield was named after President Garfield and was where he had his summer house. My place is the original boatshed of the house. The treehouse was built 15 years ago as a sleepout to watch the stars. It's a pretty quiet Lake up in the mountains of the Berkshires and sits at 1200feet so the nights get a little crisp which makes for a great night's sleep. It's a treehouse covered in wisteria with a clear corrugated roof, fully flyscreened in with canvas blinds. No mosquitoes :-) and right on the lake. Portable camp toilet under treehouse. Hanging double bed with very comfortable mattress. Please BRING your own sheets, douvet, bedding, and pillows. There is a Weber BBQ, wifi Floating jetty and dock. Two paddleboards are ready for your enjoyment. Water is crystal clear and clean enough to drink, great for swimming, fishing, and boating. The closest town for dinner and shopping is Great Barrington/ 15-minute drive away. Or Lee in the other direction. Amazing hiking trails all over the place nearby. Please be respectful of the environment (no hurting the trees, please!) Firewood in bundles can be found at any gas station in the nearby area or from me at $1 a log from behind the shed.

Nestled along the shores of Lake Garfield, Quentin's treehouse offers a unique and rustic escape. The location, surrounded by nature, is perfect for those seeking serenity, with activities like swimming and paddleboarding right at your doorstep. While the treehouse itself is cozy and inviting, guests note that it can get chilly, especially by the lake, so bringing extra bedding is a wise idea. The host, Quentin, is praised for his hospitality and efforts to ensure a comfortable stay, making it a memorable experience overall.

Beautiful space!
Amazing location with a great host. Cant wait to come back!
TIP: its totally doable to stay in the cabin in the winter, but a portable / battery powered space heater would be a very good idea to bring.

Lake Garfield Retreat
With pets
I loved staying at Quentin’s Treehouse on Lake Garfield. It was quite the experience in October as the views of fall foliage were abundant and beautiful. Quentin was an excellent host and made sure we had a heated electric blanket as the nights are chilly in October. He made it a special experience for us, and I would love to visit again if it isn’t already booked. We whole-heartedly recommend this site :))

Beautiful Berkshires Getaway
We had an amazing time at the treehouse. It was the perfect Berkshires getaway to officially end the summer. We brought our kayaks and had a beautiful chilly morning paddle. There are paddle boards provided as well. Love the large table, it gave us plenty of room to be able to cook. The hammock was incredibly comfortable. Quentin was very kind and accommodating. We wish we had stayed longer.
Check the weather and bring adequate bedding. It’s colder by the lake than you’d expect. The stairs to the treehouse are pretty steep, so keep that in mind. WiFi wasn’t a great connection but we didn’t need it anyway. Great time to unplug. Bring your own chairs if you wish to sit upright. The chairs at the site are very comfortable but more for “lounging”

Absolutely wonderful and Quentin was great to deal with. While the lake can be lively with boat action, they seem to kinda respect “curfew” times making the evenings and mornings super peaceful. swimming was lovely and the dogs had a ball. Would def. Go back as it beats all the hassle u have to deal with in a state Park.
