100 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared pathways throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small stream, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around.
Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more.
We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change.
Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.
David's campsite offers a truly welcoming and peaceful retreat, with guests consistently appreciating the stunning views of stars, sunsets, and sunrises. Many reviewers highlight the privacy and spaciousness of the sites, perfect for both relaxation and exploration. The host's hospitality is frequently mentioned, with David often going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, including providing tours and assistance when needed. While a few guests encountered minor challenges in accessing the site due to weather conditions, the overall experience seems to be overwhelmingly positive.
Beautiful camping spot. The views are breathtaking and the site is set all by itself. David was a great host and even gave us a tour of his land on his four-wheeler, which our kids loved too! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. Thank you for sharing your land with us!
What an incredible 4 nights! I arrived with everything set up already (firewood, water and portable toilet/tent), and the host David stopped by shortly after and gave me and my pup a tour of his property. I stayed for 4 nights and still didn’t get to walk all of the trails! All 3 sites were beautiful and all very different from one another. The Easter Egg one is more secluded and you are in a beautiful large meadow surrounded by trees. Great for larger groups! The Up on the Top has the best view, but you are definitely more exposed. I loved my site at Burlington Meadows. It was best of both worlds! The owners were so kind to check up on me once more during my stay, and were even more incredible when I had to message them late one night, requesting some supplies to remove a tick from my dog. They came right away with more than I needed. Hands down my favorite Hipcamp!! I can’t wait to come back and stay at the other 2 sites!
David was an exceptional host and did not mind me getting in late. Enjoyed our fireside chat, he was not intrusive, I welcomed him to stay to learn more about his place and I look forward to returning again soon. Like all the reviews, I give it 5 Stars!
This was an absolutely amazing experience. It was a wonderful and the property owner is a great guy. All three sites are amazing and super remote. The privacy you have at any of the campsites as a music.
