Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Enjoy great fishing, fires, splashing in the pool in the lake, and beautiful sunsets! Bring your own RV to enjoy this lakefront spot on the peninsula which has 270° views of the lake! Watch the sun come up over the lake out the front of the site and the sun go down out the back at night! A beautiful pool overlooks the lake, and a nice clubhouse provides for outdoor cooking, laundry, bathroom and complimentary shower facilities. Bring the family and enjoy God’s creation!IN THE PATH OF 2024 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE! BYOT (bring your own tent) or vehicle to camp on raw land, conveniently located right off Hwy 290, on the outskirts of Fredericksburg, 10 minutes west of downtown, on the quiet side. Choose anywhere on the 13 acre property to set up your own tent or park your car, van, or truck to camp. It is recommended that non 4-wheel drive vehicles park not around the vicinity of the gate. 4-wheel drive vehicles may drive to other parts of the property at your own risk. Land is rocky in spots and no real road. You may place your tent anywhere on the property. The property has a gently sloping terrain with wonderful views of the hillside of the Texas Hill Country and no light pollution. The stars at night will certainly be big and bright! Light up a campfire and unwind or take a short 10 minute drive to downtown Fredericksburg. El Gallo Mexican Restaurant is right across the street for a very convenient bite to eat. I am excited to host you for this historic, once-in-a-lifetime event! With the “Pick your own Spot” option you can pick a camping spot on the property The property is fenced in on the right of the property, which is adjacent to Old Harper Road, and at the bottom of the property along Hwy 290, where the gate is located. White stakes mark the other sides of the property. If you have questions once you get on the property, please reach out and I can help provide directions/guidance. Tim will be on-site at last some, if not all, of the time. You will be camping on a raw piece of ground anywhere of your choosing that is not taken by the handful of other campers on site. It is important to note that some areas can be rocky or have cactus that you might need to kick out of way to place your tent down. I would ask that you try your best to space out from any other campers for privacy. If you are camping in your vehicle, please park in such a way that you don’t block others from entering/leaving the gate. Be aware of rocks and cactus. You don't want to get stuck or pricked. Hike around the property all you want, but again be careful of rocks and cacti. It is unlikely snakes will be out this time of year, but please be cautious just in case. Nearby wineries, restaurants, bars, etc: There is a plethora of wineries nearby (about 10 mins) as this property is situated just west of Fredericksburg. Parking: Since you will be picking your own camping spot, there are not assigned parking spots. You may pull off to the side after you enter the gate to allow thru-traffic of other campers. It is very important not to block thru-traffic! You may park in the grass anywhere you can find a spot. If you are tent camping, you may want to park towards the entrance and then hike with your items to find the perfect camping spot. But, that's up to you. Restroom: There is no toilet on-site. You must bring your own camping toilet or bags. All waste must be disposed of off-site by you. Please don't leave this behind for me to clean up! The closest gas station and tons of restaurants if you prefer a real bathroom are about 10 minutes away in downtown Fredericksburg. Water/Food: No water or food is provided on-site. You must bring your own. Please take all trash with you when you leave. Trash: Please take all trash with you when you leave. Pets: If you choose to bring a pet, please keep them on a leash or around your camping spot so they don't bother other guests. Please clean up after your pet and take dropping with you. Fires: If the weather hasn't been too dry, you may have campfires. If you are going to start a campfire, please ensure you practice proper fire safety. No fires should be left unattended. Be prepared to use water or stomp out any nearby grass if it accidentally catches fire. Do not start fires next to your tent, bushes, trees, car, etc. Only use wood that is found on the ground (there is plenty). Do not cut down any standing trees or break off any branches of standing trees. Wildlife: Please do not approach any wildlife. Typically they are afraid of humans, but you don't want to take a chance! Absolutely no hunting or shooting weapons on the property. CHECK OUT PROCEDURE: Clean up your campsite of all trash and equipment. Close the gate and latch the gate with the attached chain. Send a picture of the closed gate to your Hipcamp host through text, phone, or email if I am not there. Again, I am very excited to host you on our property to allow you to view and enjoy the 2024 eclipse . Please feel free to reach out through Hipcamp anytime if you have any questions. Thanks! I set the site maximum at 5, but families that have more than 3 children are free to message the owner (Tim) and will most likely be welcome. Children 16 and under stay for free (although the site mentions 13 and above count as adults).

20 ft travel trailer · With pets
Amazing location and great facilities - poor with kids was so fun! People were really friendly and the site was a great. Shame the lake was so low but we hiked at Fairfield SP instead - hoping we can stay here again soon!! (One note, make sure you have a long hose for water or a long electrical connection as they’re not on the same side of the lot)
