At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios.
We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes.
We also have camping, tiny homes, vintage airstreams, and modern glamping tents available (see other Hipcamp listings). Kayaks and canoes available for epic river trips too!

Camping experience was awesome! Everyone was super friendly to us and helped us with turning on lights and giving us tips. River access is super close and very swimmable if we went in the summer. Some parts were a little tough to drive stakes into the ground because about 3 inches under the loose dirt is just rock, so we had to make do using other methods. Sunsets and views are beautiful, and night sky contains the milky way, a wonderful sight to see. If needed, a 10 minute drive to mason has the 66 Lowe’s market for anything you might need during your camp
Dos Rios has just about something for all travelers. Well kept, clean, easygoing staff, and clear signage. The river spots are definitely worth the upgrade, as a quick trail leads you to the water, not to mention the views from the bluff are spectacular. During my stay I was welcomed by a friendly neighbor overwintering from Illinois and their furry pal. Though I visited before spring had a chance to emerge, I’ll definitely be back when wildflowers are in bloom. Can’t wait to paddle board around the confluence and explore this unique terrain of Texas. The towns of Brady and Fredericksburg are both 30ish minutes away, and have all you may need for any RV or camping gear.
Dos Rios was amazing! The camp site and bathrooms were clean (and warm!) and the staff were incredibly helpful. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy nature, see the night sky, and completely unplug with no cell service, then this is the place you need to go. Easy access to the river, so much land to explore, and a cute little icehouse across the street if you want to grab a beer and meet your neighbors and some locals. Can’t wait to come back down during the summer!
Just got done with our stay and had an amazing time! An unexpected cold front came through as well as a burn ban from the lack of rain in the area. Tammy, her husband, and Colin were very accommodating and kind. Tent 5A was an amazing stay and kept us very warm in the cold weather. The grounds were beautiful and we could see the river from our tent site. The bathrooms were kept very clean and warm. We will definitely be back!
