CALLING ALL ANIMAL LOVERS! Welcome to Valais Ranch & Retreat! When you stay at VDR&R, you get so much more than your typical camping trip, you're getting a truly magical and unforgettable, dopamine-boosting experience unlike no other, that will have you returning again and again! :) Hi! We are Lolly & Eric Clough, and we named our ranch after the Swiss Valais Blacknose Sheep (a.k.a. "The World's Cutest Sheep!") If you've never heard of this ADORABLE breed of sheep, you absolutely MUST. GOOGLE. THEM... and like so many others, you will fall in love just like we did - so much so that we became part of the official breed-up program to bring this wonderful breed to the U.S.! (You're welcome!) :) We currently have 10 wonderful Valais Blacknose sheep and lambs! We also have 3 adult Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 baby goats, the sweetest miniature donkey you'll ever meet, named "Walther," and a shy mini horse named "Harry Houdini!" :) All of our animals have free-range of our property during the day, but are penned up at night to keep them safe. *** IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We strongly recommend bringing ear buds/plugs to block out the barking of our LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) through the night. They're just doing their job, but if you're not used to it, you may not sleep very well, so please bring ear buds or plugs! They absolutely love people, so they may get curious and try to come hang out with you in your tent! Because of this, we can provide you with a spray water bottle to keep them away from your tent. It's an unharmful way to keep them at bay, so please let us know if you'd like to have it on hand during your stay. Additionally, we strongly recommend bringing boots for walking around on the farm, as well as clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Especially in rainy weather, the grounds can get very muddy, and beware of animals who sometimes jump when greeting guests! Please do not hesitate to scold any of the animals should they jump on you! They are sometimes overly friendly and need to be reminded to mind their manners! *** Come pitch your tent (or rent one of ours, subject to availability!) on the grass or on the wooden deck near the edge of our pond, or walk our beautiful 19 grassy and wooded acres to find your favorite spot to set up camp. During your stay, feel free to explore our property, do some fishing (bring your own gear!) or just relax by the pond, get to know our friendly animals, take a snooze in our hammock (coming soon!), feed the chickens, turkeys and ducks, pet our loving LGDs, pose for professional pictures while snuggling with our sheep, goats, mini donkey and mini horse, make your own pizza in our DIY outdoor brick oven stove, (coming soon!) then start a campfire and enjoy s'mores, before settling in for a cozy night under the stars!

Staying at Valais Dream Ranch and Retreat was so much fun! Lolly and Eric were incredibly nice and provided everything we needed (besides our tent), including a compostable toilet, with TP and sani wipes. The camping location was right by the pond and the stars were amazing. A fire pit, and firepit essentials with a bundle of fire wood was also provided. The best part was cuddling with the farm animals! The sheep are adorable and the goats are so sweet! The dogs are cuddly, as well as the donkey! We had so much fun. Lolly is the sweetest, and took pictures of us with the animals and then sent them to me. Eric provided us treats for the sheep and after that the sheep were our best friends. lol. We loved every minute of our stay.

I loved staying at the pond view plot she has available it was beautiful and amazing me and my fiancé had a wonderful time. The animals were amazing. So loving, sweet, and kind. It was a wonderful experience all around. The owner is so kind and generous. The property is beautiful. The pond is lovely. There’s many spots with a beautiful view. It was a great experience having the animals come up and say hello to us at our site. The baby animals were so cute. We loved getting pictures taken holding baby sheep and a baby goat. The animals are all so happy and healthy. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back for our honeymoon!

I'm not even sure where to start on how awesome this camping experience was for me! Wait, yes, I do - BABY LAMBS. I repeat, baby lambs! It was so much fun to learn about the breed dubbed "the cutest lambs on earth" and they are so friendly. I held one for a while and he's just happy to here. Not to mention the variety of other farm friends like a mini donkey, goats, chickens and the like. As for the campsite, I chose to set up my tent on the wooden deck overlooking the pond. Lolly & Eric supplied a nice-sized fire pit with two grill attachments and there's a pop-up potty with a compost toilet. It was a beautiful spot and so peaceful. The stars at night sparkle and I fell asleep listening to the trees rustling. Keep in mind - the campsite is next to a heavily wooden area so bring your bug spray as there are ticks, mosquitos, etc. Also at night, there are guard dogs doing their job and you'll hear them. It didn't bother me because I enjoyed knowing the pups were on patrol and keeping out any unwanted visitors.
