Relax by the outdoor fire pit surrounded by mountain laurel and a wet weather creek or cozy up indoors around the wood burning stove and piano. Either way, Stone Branch Cabin offers the perfect place to unwind, unplug, and enjoy the outdoors. Stone Branch Cabin is a completely off the grid with no electricity or running water located in a wooded, rural area on Waldens Ridge close to several segments of the Cumberland Trail. There are ample opportunities for day trips to hiking trails, swimming holes, waterfalls, climbing spots, and more. The cabin is nestled on 5.7 acres of wooded land complete with 2 wet weather streams. Just off the covered back porch you'll find an outdoor fire pit, chairs, an outdoor kitchen with a rain collection barrel for washing dishes, and a picnic table illuminated by solar string lights. We have one disc golf goal and a croquet set if yard games are your thing. Or simply relax and play fetch with your dog and watch your cat play on the set of cat steps leading up their very own cat-sized cabin. Other amenities include basic cookery and dinnerware, a Coleman stove (please bring your own propane), an outhouse, board games, art supplies, local hiking guides, trash service, and more.Welcome to Stone Branch Cabin! This rustic, off-grid cabin sits on over 5 acres of woods complete with 2 wet weather streams and lots of wildlife. Our cabin is just over an hour from Chattanooga, and 1.5 hours from Knoxville, and 2.5 hours from Nashville making it an ideal weekend getaway destination. A separate bedroom has a full sized bed. A set of bunk beds is just outside the bedroom in the main room of the cabin. All beds have mattresses and pillows with antimicrobial, waterproof covers. You will need to bring your own linens. A freestanding outhouse is just a few steps from the front door. You will need to bring your own toilet paper. All pets are welcome! We even have special cat steps on the outside of the cabin that lead up to a private kitty-sized cabin! You are welcome to use any firewood on the property though we do not guarantee there will be any stacked or split. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ANY DRY SPLIT WOOD OR KINDLING FROM INSIDE OR UNDER THE PORCH, PLEASE REPLACE IT! THIS ENSURES THERE IS DRY WOOD FOR THE NEXT GUEST WHO MAY BE ARRIVING IN THE RAIN. Please do not burn any large, unspilt logs in the outdoor fire pit or indoor stove. Any stacked wood on the property should be split accordingly before burning. If you plan to have a fire either outdoors or in the wood burning stove we recommend you bring a maul and axe or hatchet or buy wood at a nearby market. While the property is remote we do have neighbors. Please be respectful and keep noise levels down late at night. Also keep in mind that we are in rural Tennessee and hearing gunfire is not unusual:) THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY OR RUNNING WATER. There is also basically no cell service. With Verizon you may get 1 intermittent bar at best. Things we provide: basic cookery French press plates, bowls, cups, flatware 1 cooler Coleman stove Things you may like to bring: bed linens/sleeping bags lanterns/flashlights/headlamps propane tp paper towels dish soap trash bags bug spray maul and hatchet

"Glamping" in a Cabin
I had a great solo retreat at Stone Branch! Spent most of my time making fires, practicing piano, and hiking nearby trails (Laurel Snow and Stinging Fork). Bring plenty of firewood and an axe! The hosts communicated well and everything was as expected. I highly recommend this exceptional spot for nature lovers looking to get away✨️

This cabin was exactly as described! It had everything I needed and more! It was perfect for the winter as the wood stove kept my dog and me warm all day and night. This was truly a luxury and it was the best reset I could have asked for. It was also incredibly private and I was able to play fetch with my dog with ample room for him to play. I would love to come back one day, and highly recommend staying here!!

Incredible cabin - peaceful & quiet
Stone Branch Cabin is a magical and unique spot to spend some time in nature and enjoy some seclusion. The cabin, although off-grid & rustic, was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The hosts have utensils and other useful supplies provided and the outdoor amenities were awesome. I was traveling through the area and needed a quick spot to stop & sleep, but I ended up staying up a while listening to the rain on the tin roof & even enjoying a drink on the back deck under the cover. The hosts directions & instructions were perfect and I was able to reserve it and get it confirmed almost immediately being an hour away at time of booking. The out house was incredibly clean and I loved all the whimsical artwork inside of and outside of the cabin. I plan on staying again the next time I drive through.

I really enjoyed my stay at this cute little cabin! It was rustic yet perfectly comfortable and I absolutely loved the campfire setup outside. I had everything I needed and my dog loved being off leash to explore the surrounding woods. Would definitely come back!

Unplug and Reconnect
With pets
I was solo, but think this mountain top cabin would be a great for a family weekend. The cabin sleeps 4 comfortably (one full size and a bunk bed) and there is room for a couple sleeping bags on the floor. The area is wooded and private (despite nearby neighbors). There is wildlife that can be heard, but not necessarily seen (especially at night). Since this is a totally off the grid location, bring lanterns, potable water, plenty of blankets and your own matches for the wood burning stove and outdoor firepit. And let your family know you will be unreachable for a while. There are books, indoor and outdoor games, and musical instruments provided as well as basic cookware. I can see a family having a great time here, enjoying the outdoors and each others company.
