Our 300 acres has seen cattle and tobacco over the last century, and featured in the Christy book series in the early 1900's, before falling into neglect. Stories abound of moonshiners and cock fighters reveling in it's isolation. Purchased with a dream in 2004 we have slowly recovered the original fields, and developed our own trails, linking in and out of the Cherokee National Forest. From grassy lowland skirted by creeks to ridges of hardwood timber, our farm, now home to our artisanal herd of beef cattle, is an idyll away from the bustle. Visit the old graveyard, or try to find the old schoolhouse location. Bring your dogs and enjoy getting away from it all. Learn more about this land: Private campsite in secluded hardwood forest glade. Clear acre deep in the woods; room for many tents. Custom-built picnic table, fantastic fire circle. Potable water and firewood will be provided. Privy. Well-behaved dogs welcome. Camp is a short (1/8th mile) from parking.  Hike in, or we are happy to ferry gear/people up.   Surrounded by miles of hiking trails, both on the property and into the surrounding National Forest. Rolling to mountainous terrain, creeks, set within artisanal cattle farm. Trout fishing less than two miles away. Ten minute drive to hot pizza, and 35 minute drive to town of Hot Springs - rent a hot tub, good local restaurants. Twenty minutes to nearest boat put-in on French Broad River.  One hour from Dollywood, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We are excited to share our slice of paradise, and can help orientate any visitors with suggestions of trails to hike/bike/ride, and places to visit.Private campsite in secluded hardwood forest glade. Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit, private
Toilet available
Pit toilet, composting toilet. Discreet toilet facility convenient to campsite.
Pets allowed
Off leash. We welcome your pets but do be aware that we have dogs ourselves, all friendly, and we are a working farm with a modest herd of cattle. You will be responsible for the behavior and safety of your dog. We also have chickens, but they are inside an electric fence which MOST dogs find to be an effective deterrent.
Potable water available
Bottled water or jugs. We provide plenty of water to site. We draw it from springs flowing from the National Forest. My family has been drinking it for fifteen years, but it is not treated in any way so make your own decision.
Showers available
Cold water only. Solar shower bag at camp site
Bins available
Recycling bin, trash bin. Please take your trash and recycling with you. Always be mindful of bear activity. We recommend burning food trash or keeping at distance from your campsite. Bears are very timid in our area and tend to stay away, so we'd like to keep it that way:) For longer term visitors we are happy to arrange to haul trash away during your visit for a small up-charge.
Cooking equipment present
Grill over firepit, private, cookware, cooking utensils, basic seasoning and oils. Limited basic cookware, including Dutch oven and tripod, plus grill to sit over fire.
Picnic table present
Large permanent wooden table located on camp site.
No wifi
Laundry absent
Nearest laundry would be approx. 30 minutes drive, in either Hot Springs NC or Newport TN.

This is the spot to be if you are looking for a private and primitive location. Carrie was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. Very beautiful and secluded site that offers plenty exploring opportunities.

Our New Top Spot!
Tent · Group trip
10/10! This is definitely our new favorite camping spot and we plan to come back again. First off Carrie is an amazing host, very personable, and accommodating. The location is beautiful and I don't know how you could even think that you could do better than 300+ acres all to yourselves, especially if you love the outdoors and have dogs. This is the perfect spot to get away from it all, enjoy the outdoors, and enjoy time with your friends or alone. Highly recommend checking this out AND definitely purchase some of their farm raised beef at checkout- it's delicious also consider buying firewood from them as well.

We absolutely loved camping on Carrie’s land! Highly recommend to anyone who loves a more primitive, private camping experience in the mountains. Our host was super helpful and accommodating, the hiking was beautiful and the farm dogs were a bonus. We definitely hope to return!

Stunning property, very welcoming hosts that provided firewood and a very secluded camping site. We loved seeing the cows and calves, and all kinds of bird noises in the morning. We will be back!!
