We have 21 acres in the sand hills of Calhoun county just outside Columbia S C. Apply named Too Many Oaks Plantation, a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy time in your hammock reading by day and a roaring bonfire by night, We are planting a small mixed fruit orchard and building a chicken coop and garden to enjoy fresh eggs and whatever is in season. Close to Columbia ( 30 minutes ) for a nice trip to the zoo or a float down the Saluda River with Adventure Carolina. A perfect mix of nice and quite but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with park for detailsPitch your tent in the Oak grove and have access to your own picnic table and fire pit. Wonder through the wood and enjoy nature or hang your hammock in a shady spot to enjoy the day, at night, enjoy the stars in the front pasture and a big fire at your campsite. Don't worry about bringing fire wood we have too many oak trees and have piles of cut wood around the area. We are close to Columbia and you should drive in on Saturday morning to enjoy Soda City our main street farmers market. We are working on the farm house, garden and chicken coop now to bring our little farm to life and have just added a swing and axe throwing target to keep the kids busy while the adults set up camp. In May the Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with the park for details.

We stayed here for two nights. It was decently close to Congaree national park, so we were able to explore and hike for both days we were there there. The first morning, one of his neighbors woke us up asking us what we were doing there, but I was able to communicate with Michael and everything seemed to be resolved. Slightly concerning to wake up to, but he handled it very well, and the second night had no issues other than weather. Thank you Michael!

Peaceful spot to relax
10 ft campervan
A nice little private camping spot that you can drive right up to. A first look it seems very primitive, but the host made sure there was electrical hookups and a water source (hose). The use of the cabin toilet & kitchen makes it better than primitive. The "cabin" is actually a very old homestead that makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time, and is very charming.

Loved this place. Very private. Just a beautiful place. The host, Michael is super nice and helpful. We stayed there to visit Congaree NP (about 35 min away). Also close to Columbia for some good eating if you desire. Restroom available with a shower. Potable water at the site. Highly recommended!!

Convenient access to I26
14 ft travel trailer
Easy access from I26, but feels like a little hideaway. Michael is a wonderfully welcoming host. The little “Tom Sawyer” 125 year old farmhouse is cool. And it’s nice to have indoor plumbing for a bathroom. We had a very nice quick one night stay.

Awsome!
Tent
Micheal’s directions & communication were great. This was my first time using Hipcamp and I’m hooked!! Too many Oaks is so great! Easy to find (I arrived while still light). He already had the fire ready to go! The cabin is fantastic! Hot shower and full kitchen was better stocked then some $Abnb I’ve stayed in. Having water AND electric on site was also another luxury. This place is worth every dollar. My only pit was the road noise. But I knew I’d be close to the highway so I can’t fault too much but the site is close to a road with lots of dump truck traffic as there seemed to be construction so I’m sure it’s temporary. I’m excited to go back here again and see what progress they’ve made. Great spout!!!
