We have 104 acres along the Allegheny river that we are willing to share with people who enjoy the outdoors. My husband and I, have been living here for twenty years and just enjoy the beauty this valley has to offer. We see bald eagles everyday, and every once in while some otters can be seen playing in the river. Black Fox Island is visible downstream and provides a pool in the river that is a mile long. A person can easily paddle upstream; when the river is at normal summer levels. Over 100 years ago, this was an industrial area with railroads, deep mines, strip mines, and gristmills. Some remnants of those times are still visible. Paddling, biking, walking, fishing and swimming are some of the activities to do here, but doing nothing and watching the river go by seems to be the most popular.Come drive or paddle to our serene campsites along the Allegheny River. Enjoy one of our two spacious campsites, including river access for kayaks, canoeing, fishing, or swimming. This is a great stop-over destination if you are coming by canoe or kayak (mile marker 78). Take a hike or bring your bicycles to ride on country roads or the local bike trails (within a ½ hour drive). We have fantastic sunsets from our small beach area, which can be used for sunbathing or stargazing. Bring your tent and camping gear to enjoy nature; bald eagles, deer, beavers, turtles, etc. Each site is designed for 1-6 people and 1-2 average size tents. Picnic tables, fire rings, and a shared port-a-potty (maintained regularly) are included. No electric or garbage available at this time -take out what you take in. Firewood and ice are available for fee. Some of the outdoor attractions in the area include the Allegheny Valley Bike Trail, the Armstrong Bike Trail, the Red Bank Creek Bike Trail, the Rt 66 Bike Trail, Allegheny National Forest, Cook Forest State Park, and Oil Creek State Park. Nearby towns: Parker (9.5 mile) Bike path access, and a boat launch. Foxburg (12 mile) Bike path access. East Brady (13 mile) Bike path access, and a boat launch. Emlenton (15 mile) Bike path access, and a boat launch. Clarion (22 mile) Bike path access

We absolutely loved camping at Paul and Valerie’s Sunset Valley. The kids had so much fun, floating down the river, and the campsite was flat and right next to the water and so beautiful. The property is maintained very well and there was plenty of room for the kids to ride their bikes too!! Paul and Valerie were amazing hosts!! I think we will be going back there someday…I hope!!

Scenic beauty at Sunset Valley
Tent
Our second time back at Sunset Valley with Paul and Vallerie and just as expected we had an absolute blast!!! Summertime on some of the most beautiful property in the entire area! Paul and Vallerie do an amazing job maintaining their own little slice of heaven and have spent years turning it into one of the most beautiful spots on the Allegheny River. It’s hard to understand the significance of their daily love and labor in this place until you show up and see it for yourself! Whether your looking for a private place to set your tent or hammock up or your looking for a wonderful time swimming, tubing, hiking, or just genuinely want a lazy retreat you can find it all here. Even got to see the river otters and eagles this time!!! Can not wait to come back again!!!

Great place to camp!
Tent · With kids
We really enjoyed our stay at Paul and Vallerie’s land. Vallerie met us when we got there and was so friendly and helpful. She also checked in a few times during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. The bank to the River by the camp site is a steep drop - farther than some of the pictures can show. We didn’t have issues with this, but it’s a good thing to keep in mind if you have small children like we do. There is plenty of space to pitch your tent and spread out. We were grateful for our 10x10 canopy for shade over the picnic table in the hot July morning sun. Lots of shade trees other places though. We had a choice between 2 places with a picnic table and fire ring - one close to the river and one back farther. The rocky beach area by the dock was a great place to swim, especially with young children - bring footwear, it’s rocky like the pictures. If you need a place to get away and breathe your own air, book your time here!

Perfect night
Tent
My friends and I wanted a fun and relaxing girls camping trip. Sunset Valley checked all the boxes. Paul and Valerie were the perfect hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was wonderful. The views were spectacular! Our tents and our fire pit overlooked the Allegheny River. We had a ton of space and the ground was nice and level. The area was private and quiet. We were sad to leave but can not wait to visit again soon!
