Romantic
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is romantic.
Surrounded by towering tulip trees, fern-covered hills, and rock outcroppings, this place feels special. Bordering Shaupeneak Ridge Park, the Tulip Forest is also a short drive to other Hudson Valley parks like John Burroughs Slabsides and Black Creek Preserve. Additionally, the hip Kingston Waterfront is only 15 minutes away. Come rest in some truly beautiful nature!*** PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION *** Enjoy a weekend of glamping in the Hudson Valley in your own private tiny cabin! It may be small (120 square feet) but has everything you need for an amazing getaway in nature, with a full size sofa bed, composting toilet, indoor hot water shower, heat and air conditioning, and a kitchen area with sink, refrigerator, hot plate, and coffee setup. Outside, enjoy lounging in the Adirondack chairs by the fire pit, or relaxing in the hammock. *** THINGS TO KNOW *** • The cabin is on land we also live on. It's a couple hundred feet from our home and there is a small shed a bit closer. That said, you'll have complete privacy and likely only see us when we come and go out of the driveway. • Although on 5 acres and surrounded by trees, the cabin is situated close to the road, so don't expect a deep woods camping experience. But the road has very little traffic and come night you probably will feel like you're deep in the woods. • Given how small the inside space is, there is only one couch that is also the bed. Please note that the couch will be set up when you arrive, so you’ll need to pull it out and make the bed up yourself. • We provide clean linens—blankets, sheets, towels—and pillows for our guests, so no need to pack a sleeping bag (unless of course you want to). • You might just want to come and relax on the land, but we're also in a really great location, surrounded by a bunch of beautiful parks (Shaupeneak Ridge, John Burroughs Slabsides, Black Creek Preserve, and Minnewaska/Mohonk, to name a few), several cideries and wineries (like Twin Star Orchards, Wilklow Orchards, Red Maple Vineyard, and Robibero Winery), and right in the middle of three very cool little towns (New Paltz, Kingston, and Rosendale) that offer a lot of different eating and shopping options.

Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit, private. We put enough wood under the porch for you for about one fire. If you're here for more than one night and want to have another fire you might want to buy some extra wood - there's a firewood stand about 5 minutes away at 336 Union Center Rd, or try the MyTown Marketplace in Rosendale or Citgo on Route 9W in Ulster Park. Also feel free to collect and burn any sticks from the pile of branches behind the tiny house.

Coziness in the Tulip Forest
This is such a special and thoughtfully curated tiny house! We appreciated the well-appointed kitchen, excellent instructions, and the bed was surprisingly comfy with the extra padding provided. We unfortunately didn’t get to use the campfire but would love to come back for it. With temps down in the 30s during our stay, we were so grateful for the heat inside and the cozy vibes. We also had one small issue that Jeff responded to right away. Highly recommend!!

Lovely little getaway spot!
Beautiful little house in a dense quiet forest. Jefff thought of everything from coffee and tea, to interesting books to read and games to play. Everything went great and it was a perfect little getaway for us. It was also close enough to everywhere we wanted to explore (30 minutes to Rheinbeck and 35 to Woodstock). We would love to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the tiny house! It was clean and comfortable, had a lot of great books and games, wood for a fire and a nice private fire pit outside! There were great suggestions for hikes and places to eat in the guest book- we had an awesome time!

Such a unique stay!
The tiny house was such an awesome find! We loved the big windows and getting to look out at the ferns on the hill. It was equipped with everything we could need, from a hot plate and electric kettle with tea and coffee to eco friendly shampoo and soap for the shower. It was raining while we stayed so didn’t get to make a fire, but we’ll definitely be back to use the super cool fire pit area (and the forest was beautiful in the rain!!). I’d absolutely recommend the tiny house to anyone, it was such a wonderful place to spend the night :)
