Cosy up in my cute 10x12 wood cabin with a star-gazing/yoga platform on the edge of the forest in the beautiful Catskills. Walk down through the forest to the creek and gather around the firepit in the evening. There is also plenty of space to pitch additional tents around the cabin or in the woods.
The cabin, a repurposed and insulated tiny barn, comes with:
— A double bed (please bring your own linens/sleeping bag)
— Outdoor chairs and beanbag
— A propane-fueled camp stove
— A large Coleman cooler
— Rechargeable lantern
— Cooking/ dining gear (including basic condiments like olive oil, salt, hot sauce etc — and a camp coffee maker!)
— A spare tent and inflatable mattress for additional guests
— A zip line for visiting dogs, so your best friend can also enjoy more of the outdoors.
— Firewood is not included, but can be purchased when you book, and is also available at several nearby stores.
The cute small towns of Hobart and Stamford are both under 10 mins drive away, with coffee shops, bookstores and supermarket. Just outside of Stamford, there is lake with public access for swimming. The Bramley Mountain trailhead is 20 minutes drive away, and access to the 19-mile-long Catskill Scenic Trail is in nearby South Kortright.Cosy up in a 10x12 wood cabin on the edge of the forest in the beautiful Catskills.
My friends and I bought this lovely 9.5-acre piece of land about five years ago, and it's been our spot to take a break from the city, camp out under the stars, watch the fireflies and enjoy the peace.
The cabin is a repurposed and insulated tiny barn with a bed, extra blankets, camp stove, rechargeable lantern, Coleman cooler, and kitchen gear (including a coffee maker).
All you need to bring is food & drink, and a sleeping bag/bed linen.
Though within easy access of the road, the land is very peaceful and has beautiful views of Bramley Mountain. Walk down through the forest to the creek and gather around the firepit in the evening.
The cute small towns of Hobart and Stamford are both under 10 mins drive away. Hobart has the famous Bull & Garland gastropub and bookstores, while Stamford is having a revival and offers great coffee (Stamford Coffee and Mountain Dog Cafe), an old-school breakfast spot (TP's), the Catskills Outpost for fun outdoor gear, and the Belvedere Inn, a reopened bar under an historic hotel which has great dive-bar cocktails and food.
There's a swimming lake just beyond Stamford on Route 10, the well-known Bramley Mountain trailhead is 20 minutes drive away, and access to the 19-mile-long Catskill Scenic Trail is in nearby South Kortright.
