I acquired my farm ahead of the "end of the world" millennial crisis; I want to share it with nature lovers who appreciate it as well; and love animals like I do!
We will have foals this year to interact with supervision!
We have a turtle sanctuary, & have taken in many homeless critters &; animals 4 legged, some 2 legged.
We also have occasional other worldly visitors, completely benevolent, and a lot of wildlife that call our little mountaintop oasis home.
Come! See for yourself! We have lots of nearby activities the whole family
can enjoy! Ball parks, specialty breweries, 4 star restaurants, lakes
Learn more about this land: Enjoy the wildlife & the domestic life!
You can have input about what part you want to camp in, but there is a turtle safety zone; and we know where the quick sand is, and would rather you didn't sink out of sight!
We have a hill top view or the serenity of a water fall site (as long as there isn't a drought) or the sweet smell of hemlock & pine! Shade & trees. Feel like you're in the Wild West with herds of horses, cows, goats ; wildlife visiting your campsite! We have a canoe w a small pond & bullhead fishing, wagon rides, pony rides, and eventually trails for horse back riding. Eventually we will install cabins with lean-tos to bring your own horse with you! If you have a dog? Ask if it is welcome, not all dogs are, due to safety issues with the livestock and birds. We can provide a barbeque pit, for cooking. Depending on the time of year there is fresh produce as well!
Why go thousands of miles to walk with the (almost!) mustangs !!!
You can have the experience right here in NY!
Felt like we were on a ranch! Awesome slice of paradise here. Everything we needed - porta potty, access to potable water, and the open sky. Such a unique stay and fun to talk to the owners… they have some great stories!!
Lisa and Ed’s property is as beautiful as their hospitable nature. They were so welcoming to my family and attentive to any needs we may have had. Lisa was so thoughtful in making my daughter’s birthday extra special. We were grateful to go to sleep and wake up in peaceful surroundings and welcomed the views of the horses grazing and playing in the pasture. The kids loved the turtle sanctuary and spent hours just playing in their surroundings. What a wonderful sanctuary to spend your time. I highly recommend.
The name of this Hipcamp says it all. We got to camp on a hill with horses! Unlike other hipcamps we've been to with horses, this one, you get to camp INSIDE the pasture with the horses. It was an amazing experience getting to watch the horses run and play. At one point, the horses walked up and tried to stick their heads inside our campervan to say hi and to see what we were eating for dinner. Lisa was a fantastic host. When we arrived, they showed us to our site and, later in the day, even had the horses run up to our site for some snacks. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to be able to stop here again next time we pass through the state!
What a unique experience! We were just looking for a place to camp after seeing a show at Ommegang and stumbled on this listing. We had a really short stay, but really enjoyed it. The horses were curious and fun to see. We camped on the top part of the field because we weren't sure how our little Prius would do going into the lower parts of the field. Lisa put out fresh hay to keep the horses busy when we got in late and, generally after their initial curiosity when Lisa was showing us the area to camp, they left us alone. Lisa was so kind, welcoming, and had fresh eggs for us in the morning. If we need a place to stay again we will be back. Other things to know: As the pictures show, there are so many horses! Even after seeing the photos we were surprised. Also, this is camping in the a field, so expect just that. Our stay was so short that we missed out on all of the other things Lisa had to offer, like a bonfire, seeing more of the grounds, and feeding the horses.
My family loved Ed and Lisa's place, even those of us who aren't horse people! Being in the pasture with the horses is such a unique experience! We are country people who love quiet and this was perfect. Mountains, horses in their pasture, a campfire... just beautiful. Ed and Lisa were so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place!
