Hambone's Nuthin' Fancy Hideaway is a beautiful retreat at the very end of a short limerock (not sand!) road tucked into the forest, a five-minute walk to the Goldendale Boat Ramp and dock on the beautiful Withlacoochee River a five-minute drive from downtown Dunnellon. (Note: due to Hurricane Milton, the river and boat dock are temporarily closed to motor boat traffic, but the lovely sunset dock is open and the river is open to canoeists and kayakers.)
We have a choice of three lovely campsites for your RV or tent: Trail's End, Corner Pocket, and Another Roadside Attraction. We have LIMITED electric service to Trail's End and Corner Pocket, but not to Another Roadside Attraction. We can run an extension cord to the two closer sites, but you will need an adapter to fit your rig. The MAXIMUM is 30 amps. WE CANNOT OFFER FIFTY AMP SERVICE, SORRY.
We are 12 minutes to Rainbow Springs, less than a half-hour to the manatee springs in Crystal River, an hour to Silver Springs, less than two hours to Disneyworld, and less than two hours to the Tampa Airport.
The historic "Old Florida" town of Dunnelllon offers a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, antiquing, and off-the-beaten-path old Florida charm. Sam was a great host! He would take me along with him when he went to the boat ramp to watch the sunset each night on the Withlachoochee River.
You camp at the end of the rd in his back yard, there is a outside toilet & shower. His dog & cat are super sweet!

Staying at Sam's was perfect for what we needed in between spring hopping adventures! He was very nice and accommodating and met us at the boat ramp for a beautiful sunset before getting us set up. His property is private and having access to a bathroom and an outdoor shower was convenient. We would consider staying at Sam's again when we are exploring that part of the state again!
