Enjoy wide country spaces surrounded by coastal wetlands on Micalo Island. New picnic table and undercover shelter is now available next to the big pond. We provide a secluded sanctuary located 10 minutes from the town centre of Yamba. Yamba is known to have some of Australia's best beaches Ideal for surfing, fishing and all of your water sports needs. Other main attractions of Yamba include; Yamba Golf and Country Club, Yamba Bowling Club, the Pacific Hotel and Yamba Shores Tavern. Just a short drive further south lies the beautiful village of Angourie and the Yuraygir National Park. Coles shopping centre is only a 2 minute drive making stocking up on essentials quick and easy. Our riverfront sites are ideal for smaller set-ups wanting a more private setting with kayak access and fishing at your front door. Larger caravans and RVs are more suited around the freshwater dam with gravel road access. A wide variety of flora and fauna call these sensitive mangrove wetlands home. Ideal for birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts wanting to explore this special area. Instagram - @micaloe.co

Beautiful camp-site and bloke
I loved the campsites was one of the most beautiful scenery I've seen in my life. Host Tully was a gentlemen and a good looking buck at that! Some would say the full package...

Easy and convenient
Simple and easy place. Can tell that it will get better and better in time as they are chipping away at adding to it to make it better. Not far from town, mozzies a few but not too bad, grassy flat sites, shade in some places but not everywhere. Marginally pricey for where it is now (Oct 2024) but will improve in time. Would stay again 🤙🏽

Living Paddock!
Beautiful spot. Found discarded wood near the entrance, seemed like it was provided for a camp fire, which we absolutely did have- as did others also! Cows in the next paddock were super interested in their holiday neighbours, and very polite and considerate, they didn’t spend the night yelling at us. The rivers are alive with fish, jumping out of the water, you can hear them from the tent! Excellent spot for some fishing, bites within seconds of casting for most of my experience. Looked like there were crab pots in amongst waterways nearby too. Sorely needs a toilet on site, and perhaps a solid door for the shower. There are works going on so maybe they have that in progress. Overall, very nice, would return to this spot and Yamba.

Great camping and space
Plenty of space to camp, and with the vegetation somehow the sites are quite private. Super close to town, and highly recommend. Downside was not having toilets.

How campgrounds should be!
Micalo Eco suited us, and our two doggos, and 16ft caravan perfectly 👌 the sites are very well spaced. There's so much room! You can be tucked amongst the trees or out in the open. The access road was really good, and there's clear signage as well as tall flags marking the gate. We swam in the dam, and relaxed under the pergola. The outdoor shower is fabulous. It's right on the edge of Yamba, but you are away from the crowds. The surrounding vegetation is full of birdlife, and I spotted heaps of different species with the binoculars. Cheers Rob and Tully! It's a top camp and you were great hosts :)
