Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Whether you want respite from the day’s travel or a special spot to stay for a few days, Forest Farm might just be the place for you. Just 5 mins off the Tintenbar exit of the M1 Motorway, Forest Farm is a 280 acre farm bordered by Emigrant Creek in Tintenbar, Northern NSW. Centrally located in the Northern Rivers area, Forest Farm is just 30 mins from Bryon Bay, 15mins from Lennox Head and Ballina and Bangalow, 10 mins from Newrybar and Alstonville and 5 mins from Killen Falls. Staying at Forest Farm gives you access to many famous markets, bike trails, national parks and walking trails, boating, brilliant beaches, restaurants and cafes … you name it. And in between all those visits you get to come home to a very special kind of paradise in a beautiful valley surrounded by trees and forest, birds and other native animals. The property is home to koala, wallabies, echidnas, and many different birds (local birdwatching groups have identified nearly 100 different species so far). There are also some friendly cattle. A lovely walk along Emigrant Creek starts from the camping area, and the path leads you through to Tintenbar General Store, a great place for a morning coffee, and any supplies you need. Kayaking and fishing are common along Emigrant Creek. And if you’re lucky, you may just get a glimpse of the elusive platypus along the way. Forest Farm is a quiet, peaceful place and we welcome likeminded campers. We value our relationship with our neighbours, so please no parties or loud music. Laughter always welcome!!!! P.S. Don't forget your mozzie repellent in the wet summer months!!!Wattle’s Lawn (named after our friendly little echidna) is particularly suited to those who love trees, nature and idyllic, peaceful, quiet surroundings. There is a lovely little intermittent creek running past the camp site, so you may come across the water dragons or saw backed turtles along the banks. Frequented by ducks and wallabies. You may also see some friendly cattle across the fence near the camping area. Wattle’s Lawn camping sites are quickly and easily accessible, though a skinny entrance off the road means we need to restrict the size of caravans and motorhomes to a maximum of 7m (23ft). This campsite is suitable for fully self-contained campers. As there are no facilities on site you will need to have your own camping toilet/shower facilities and your own drinking water. There is a dump point just 10 mins away at the BP Truckstop at the southern exit to Ballina off the M1 motorway. You will also need to take all your rubbish with you when you leave. If you love a fire, small self-contained above ground fires are able to be used during fire permit season. You will need to bring your own firewood. Collecting your own firewood off the property is not possible.

We had a short, pleasant visit to Carmel's. The location is gorgeous, she was very warm and welcoming, and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. Highly recommended.

No jam packed caravan parks here
Carmel’s land was peaceful and beautiful. We were kindly met with home grown fruit after arrival. This spot is the front grass section of Carmel’s home which can be seen from the distance, but still very private. The street is extremely quiet and we only saw 3 cars go past in the 2 nights we stayed. Overall a lovely alternative to jam packed caravan parks. The only difference being you need to be 100% off grid and self sufficient. Phone/internet was limited in the entire area. We noticed all private stays in Byron and surroundings are quite costly, the only downfall. The highlights included; the local wildlife and Killen falls which is a short drive from the property. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Outstanding hospitality
We had a lovely stay on Carmel's land. We booked late afternoon to stay that night and was met with outstanding hospitality. Although their tractor had broken down, Carmel's partner mowed a patch for us to camp on and we had a lovely stay. Thank you!

Had a great time camping on Carmel’s property in our caravan. We have a 19ft caravan and there was plenty of room to manoeuvre and park up. It’s a great area there with plenty of things to do nearby - on or off the property. Tintenbar general store is a short walk along the creek which is handy.
