For many years after a long winter of making snow and grooming, I always enjoyed returning to this piece of heaven outside of Taos. Through the years, friends and co-workers came to visit and enjoy the land and named it Ulhr (god of snow) Ranch. The house is being built with 1880s reclaimed lumber from the Gold Pan Dance Hall in Eagle Nest NM. We aim to be kind to the land and try to reuse any time we can. Learn more about this land: Come stay awhile at the Ulhr Ranch. High Desert Vistas gives your ears a rest from the noise of the city. Just a few hundred feet from BLM and Carson national forest and a beautiful hike up to Three Peaks.  Only three miles away from the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument and the Rio Grande river with gold medal fishing, rafting and swimming. Three ski resorts just a short drive from the ranch. No matter the season, there is something to do at the ranch.Come stay awhile at the Ulhr Ranch. Bryan was a wonderful host! He received a package for us so we could make a repair on our camper van. Offered tools, and great recommendations for the area. We would gladly stay with him again when near Taos!

A Taos Junkyard Experience?
Nearly impossible to distinguish the “campsite” from the surrounding junk yards. We drove several miles down washboard roads weaving in and out of junk yards to... a fire pit in the middle of a junk yard. Literally had to move debris out of the road to pull into the site... We never found the amenities listed. We did not wade through the building materials and garbage surrounding our site to investigate further... just don’t go here expecting water or a usable composting toilet. Dogs rummaged around our campsite and got into our stuff... so... wildlife? We did not return for our second night we paid for. We would not have stayed the first night had we not just driven 7 hours and the sun was setting. Just go to Luna Mystica. It’s not as private but it’s 3 miles away and safe and clean.

Bryan was excellent! I arrived pretty late so finding it at night can be tricky--his directs are great but you really need to pay attention. And he was in perfect communication with me until I got there. The drive in itself is so beautiful. And just like he says the campsite was S-I-L-E-N-T. I'd forgotten what quiet sounded like and how much I needed it. The weather is just perfect this time of year. I loved the compost toilet. I would have preferred to spend a little time wandering around the area but arrived late and left early--his place was the perfect stopover.

Beautiful skies & sunset, private. Didn’t hang out during the day. Great recommendation for WiFi for a work obligation.
