Camp Rio, formerly named Camp @ Cloudcroft is located in beautiful SE New Mexico! The park is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, golf, and walking trails. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests. The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Guests enjoy our upgraded free wifi to have the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful nature, while still being able to connect with family/friends/work. Our location is superb to use as a base camp for numerous attractions as a centralized location to have many adventures.

Site 11 - Camp Rio RV Sites

Awesomeness

The campground itself is very well maintained with clean bathrooms and the campsites electricity and water work. The vibe and the people running it are amazing with accommodating needs and very friendly! There are a variety of choices of campsite types with amenities galore. I highly recommend this place!!

Camp Rio Tent Sites

Very well kept camp grounds. Bathrooms super clean. Great place. My only suggestion would be to have the ability to book a specific tent site. I am a super light sleeper, and I would have preferred to have a site that was further away from everyone else to allow for better sleep. We ended up directly in the middle of a 9 year olds camp birthday celebration with lots of kids and a pretty large group of adults as well. Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep with all the back and forth of people and kids. I would definitely go back, I would just make sure I called and asked to be placed in a more remote tent spot.

Camp Rio Tent Sites

The camp hosts and staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. The little river and surrounding area is beautiful. There was a food truck, the bathrooms were clean and i enjoyed the hot showers. Would ask for a tent campsite near the river next time, as this seems to be the nicest spot for tent camping, other spots are either close to the road or quite exposed. But that is just personal preference. Would camp there again! Thanks Camp Rio!!!

Camp Rio Vintage Shasta Daisy

This was the cutest little camper. Steps away from the river that runs through the campgrounds. Super pet friendly, clean and the other guests and host were very polite. The night sky was amazing!
