Pitch your tent on the giant lawn, close to the running stream that runs down the property to the river or by the firepit or be more adventurous and pitch it on one of the private three wooded plateaus (seasonal) or right by the St John River, up to you. Newly planted butterfly garden. Plenty of wildlife.
Tonia was amazing! We had a large bus full of dogs and needed a place to stay and let them out. She was more than accommodating and even let us set up our portable fence. We couldn’t navigate the hill to the grass area due to the size of our vehicle so she kindly let us park on her front lawn and even use our generator all evening. Wonderful host and extremely accommodating! We even drove over the covered bridge in town which was super neat. I’d stay here again. Thanks Tonia and husband and it was so nice to meet your dogs and roosters! 5 stars
I loved camping here.
The sound of the stream was soothing and bathing in is was amazingly refreshing. All was friendly and relaxed. There is lots of space. You'll be close to Hartland and Woodstock...
A lovely, private place to camp that makes a great stop on the direct route back from Nova Scotia to Ontario. About 15 minutes off the highway. The ideal tent spot is down by a small (in August) creek. It's flat and shady, and you hear the creek all night, which is lovely. Not a creek you'd swim in FYI -- very shallow. It's very close to the (2-lane) road but there's barely any traffic at night. There's a fire circle and stumps around it, and wood available. The toilet is a toilet seat attached to a lawn chair with a bag attached that you are responsible to remove when you leave. Toilet paper is provided and it's very clean. If you're fine with rustic amenities, you'll love the spot, as I did. The host provides a friendly welcome but leaves you to have privacy too. They brought me fresh eggs and an onion from the garden, and a jar of pickled beets!! There are 3 small friendly dogs who came out with the host in the morning but are very well-behaved. I would definitely stay again!
