Natural cabin for nature lovers on a little homestead. This cabin was built using local wood and is situated in a grove of mature oak and persimmon trees. Relax on the porch, sit around the fire, or enjoy looking out the window at wildlife (lots of birds!) and livestock. The cabin has a loft, galley kitchen, and a small bathroom with shower. Less than 20 minutes away from I-70, just over 30 minutes from Columbia, MO. Located close to Missouri river access at Lupus, and is approx 10 minutes away from Plowboy Bend Conservation Area, Prairie Home Conservation Area, and Big Muddy NWR. There is one twin bed on ground level and a twin and full bed in the loft, option to move full mattress to the floor. Family friendly, pets must be on a leash at all times (we have katadhin sheep, Irish Dexter cattle, plus many more).Cabin has one twin mattress on ground level and a full and twin mattress in the loft. Larger individuals or individuals with mobility issues will not be able to access the loft, full mattress can be moved to ground level. There is a flushing toilet, shower, and kitchen sink. Has a small capacity water heater for hot shower (a short one!) and has a small camp stove for cooking. Has Air conditioner and electric heat. Basic bedding is provided. There is room to park two cars. Outside of cabin there is a deck overlooking a pasture and a fire pit area with a picnic table right outside the front door (free firewood!). Thank you John
Completely positive experience. Good bang for the buck. Would visit again. For anyone traveling by motorcycle, the last 3/4 miles in are gravel which is easily manageable when dry but which would test you when wet. Ride up and down 87 and 179 makes it all worth it though..

It was perfect! Kitchen had what we needed. There was firewood available for us to use and the beds were covered in cozy quilts. There was heat to keep us warm on a chilly night. Perfect for my son and I to have our yearly Mom-Kid getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the little cabin. It's well equipped, clean, and well stocked with firewood for the camp fire. Found the box of records under the bed, but couldn't wrangle the record player. The kitchen is stocked with silverware, cutlery and anything else you might have forgotten to bring. The shower works just fine. Others have reported a hot, short shower experience, but the tankless water heater works correctly. Just keep in mind that the hot is on the right and cold on the left and you'll be okay. We were a little surprised by the acorns falling on the metal roof, but that's probably to be expected in the fall...

Road in gravel, but level. Quaint, quiet cabin. Great woodsy outdoor area, chairs on deck, a firepit, picnic table. Minimal kitchen supplies. Works fine if ones prepared.

Quiet Cabin
Lovely quaint and quiet get away for me and my preteen. There was a grand window with a pretty view. It was fun to watch the cows graze as we played board games. We were excited to have a camping experience with bathroom amenities and not expecting to have the bonus of air conditioning. Beds were cozy and location was super easy to find! Definitely recommend.
