BaseCamp is respite nestled into the Arcadia Valley just miles from Shepherd Mountain Bike Psrk. With nearly 70 acres surrounded by Mark Twain National Forest, there are many opportunities for hiking, botanical exploration, licensed fishing, mountain biking, equine accessible trails, and much more. There is a small pond on the property with a walking trail and a rock garden that doubles as a small creek when rains are heavy. With camping options ranging from backpacking and tent camping to van dwellers and Tiny House glamping, all are welcome. Adventure begins at Base Camp!
Sherri’s campsite offers a serene and spacious setting, making it an ideal spot for campers looking to unwind in nature's embrace. With ample space for tents, a stack of firewood ready to go, and clean facilities including a well-maintained porta-potty, guests can enjoy a cozy and convenient camping experience. Visitors appreciate the peace and quiet, with only the sounds of whippoorwills and frogs to accompany their stay. While ticks have been mentioned as a concern by some, the overall sentiment leans heavily positive, with many campers eager to return.
Beautiful place to camp. The site itself had plenty of room, and was very flat, making it easy to put my tent wherever I wanted. It was also nice to have a stack of firewood right on the site.
I highly recommend staying here!
This site was a wonderful home base to visit Elephant Rocks SP, Johnson's Shut-ins SP, Pickle Springs Natural Area, and Taum Sauk SP! The campfire ring and picnic table helped make for a really easy set-up, and the potable water was helpful (and tasty)!
Remote from the main roads, but not inaccessible, and a great launching point for a lot of adventures in the area. Plenty of good firewood, water, and toilet access, and a great view of the stars.
