Not the premium site you'd expect

Love the view, loved the sheltered bar setup to make cooking easier, loved the cliff edge to park folding chairs and watch the sunrise. However, the off road party that had to break up upon arrival, the trash, piles of cigatte butts, broken chairs, extension cords, and old construction supplies scattered around, and the smell make the experience so much less than the $70 price tag. Oh, that smell. It from an open crude oil tank 25yds from the site. If you are lucky it blows away, if not, well, the label on the crude tank says that the fumes are flammable and may cause dizziness or fainting. For $30, I might recommend, perhaps for $50 if there was a warning about the fumes and the trash cleaned up but no way for $70/ night.

Beautiful Kentucky Ridge Top
14 ft pop-up camper ·
Nice level site and really well maintained with gravel allowing any rain to drain well. Beautiful ridge top location that was quiet at night. The stars were lovely. The site was large and allowed us ample room to set up our teardrop trailer and to have space for our camp chairs, etc. The porta potty is close enough to be convenient as well. The directions to get to the site were great. They made it easy to find where we were going even after exiting onto a steep mountain gravel road.

Beautiful campground. Highly recommend! Very important to follow the written directions though, GPS tried rerouting through some rough terrain but overall camping here was an amazing experience

This is the first accommodation I have ever booked that I have been unable to stay in due to conditions at the site. The host was very responsive when we were having difficulty finding the site. However, upon arrival we noticed a very strong gas smell that was not dissipating with the considerable wind, and was strong enough that we very quickly started to feel unwell. Additionally, there was trash littered around the site, including empty beer cans and boxes with unfinished cans. After being unable to find a source for the smell at the site, we messaged the host and were told that it was due to a crude oil pump on a nearby lot and there was nothing to be done. Unfortunately, at this point it was clear that we would not be able to stay at the site due to the effects of the fumes and we had to find alternative accommodations at the last minute.
